The 2010 Red Bull Art of Can Singapore will be held from 2-11 July, 2010, at the brand new *SCAPE located just a stone’s throw off Singapore’s busiest shopping street – Orchard Road. The exhibition will feature artists based in Singapore and original pieces of artworks created with or inspired by the blue and silver Red Bull cans.
The event will culminate in a 10-day exhibition to be held at the brand new *SCAPE building just off Orchard Road, and is expected to showcase a wide variety of art made from recycled materials. It would be really interesting and fascinating to see what the best creative minds in Singapore can come up with this year. Past Red Bull Art of Can events have seen innovative exhibits like a 14-foot bull, an 8-foot octopus and even a Mona Lisa replica portrait pieced together completely using the blue and silver cans! The number of Red Bull cans used for the art pieces over the years ranged from one to an astounding 4,000!
For the Singapore event, an estimated 30-50 pieces are expected to be selected for the final exhibit collection at *SCAPE. The official private opening on 2 July will be a by-invite-only event with a guest list that is expected to feature the who’s who in the local arts scene, all participants, event partners and friends of Red Bull. There will also be an official after party at Zouk, which is the official night spot for the Red Bull Art of Can Singapore 2010.
