Netizens are now taking pot shots at the mother of two for her latest sexy bikini covers for local entertainment magazine, 8 Days.
The headline on the magazine said: 'Does Zoe Tay look like a 40-year-old mother-of-2 to you?'
Inside the weekly magazine is a 20-page photo spread of Zoe in various swimsuits taken on Sentosa.
It also includes an interview with her.
The last time Zoe did a bikini spread for a magazine was in 2006 for Her World.
Some netizens aren't convinced that Zoe could look that hot.
NO MORE WRINKLES
One netizen, who slammed her in an online forum, said: 'Her wrinkles and crow's feet were airbrushed away.
'So was the flab on her tummy and cellulite on her arms and thighs. The wonders of Photoshop.'
Another forum contributor wrote: 'Photograph - 3 seconds. Photoshop - 3 days. Results - Priceless. It doesn't even look anything like her.'
But the veteran actress and model is not without her fans.
A blogger on another website said: 'To be honest, Zoe looks really awesome, her body, and curves.
'How many 40-year-old lady (sic) can maintain their bodies like Zoe? I like what I see.'
So were Zoe's snaps subject to any digital enhancement?
In an e-mail response to The New Paper, MediaCorp Publishing's group editor Tan Lee Sun said: 'With regards to digital alterations of the images, 8 Days treads lightly when it comes to digital alterations, and touch-ups to Zoe's images only serve to enhance what were already stunning, jaw-dropping images.'
The New Paper attempted to contact Zoe several times but her manager Carolyn Chong said she was too busy filming an upcoming Chinese drama.
Responding to the negative online comments about Zoe's photos, she would only say: 'This is a fashion spread which she was asked to do and Zoe is a professional.'
Ms Chong added that Zoe did work out to look as toned as possible for the shoot.
'And she did it (the shoot) four months after she gave birth,' she said.
Zoe's second son Ashton was born in September last year.
There has been plenty of speculation that Zoe's position as queen of Singapore television isslipping.
At the 2005 Star Awards, she was accused of trying to steal the limelight.
Then came her infamous Imedeen advertisement with the suggestive tagline: 'I swallow.'
Last year, in an interview with local Chinese language entertainment magazine, Citta Bella, she said that her contract has been suspended because of her pregnancy.
MediaCorp issued a statement refuting her claim.
MISSED OUT ON AWARD
As for her popularity, she missed out on the My Favourite Actress award at the Star Awards 25th Drama Anniversary Show last year.
The award, which was by public voting, went to Huang Biren.
So is she trying to revive her popularity with these photos?
In the interview with 8 Days, Zoe said: 'I'm trying not to prove anything or show women over 40 have to be a certain way.
'Whether people want to say good or bad things is beyond my control.'
