i am taking o'level this year. many of my friends said that this year o lvl will be easier due to the change of syllabus (next batch) & that more ppl can pass. Is that true??

I dont think anyone would know... we're not the ones setting the paper but how does changing of syllabus make the exam easier? the exam will be easy if you're adequately prepared for it, no matter what is tested. you could have the simplest things tested and not be prepared for it, and you will still fail.

all these predictions start snowballing into rumours. if u start listening u gonna be so dead seriously. if u think its gonna be so easy, u will have a subconcious mind telling u not to study so hard. besides unless u took the previous exam first hand, u cant say if its actually harder or easier

very true... the easier the paper, the more people who will score (esp those from all the top schools) and then this will make it more diff to get your As...

i always believe that the easier the paper, the harder u must study (to really make sure that u can score)

haha actually theres another possibility. the easier the paper, the closer the scores of the students will be (not so much gap between the top and normal schools) and the differences will boil down to careless mistakes...

i took my o's last year, and my teacher say that those taking this year would be harder.. but i knw that ur o level exam would take place earlier than us.. and results plus posting also earlier..

every year such rumours will come up .
but .. if u studied than it shldnt be a problem .
cos they will change the overall average
when the scores come up .

Even if its easier I am sure there will be moderation...
So its best so study and ignore any rumours, after all it doesn't hurt if you know all the answers
