yea.this kind my frd kena b4.i think they will quote u a price for a v large number of flyers distributed.den if u work less than 3 days,u dun get a cent or something like that.i think i wasa luckier.i worked for a boss i found in the newspaper.he pay me $5 per hr for distributing.just have to put in letterbox

You should report the company. How can they say you only distributed half the block. The flyers dont remain there. They are meant to be taken by the residents to read or throw away. The later seems more likely.

Moreover, wind is a factor. Also if you slot on the doors, when people see the flyer, they can choose to
1) take the flyer and read/throw
2) leave the flyer there such that when they open the door, the flyer will drop to the door so it seems like you threw it at the door step.
3) if the door of the residence was originally open, chances are the flyer will still drop even if you tried to slide them between the grilles

So unless the person who claims you only did half the block was with you when you did the job, he/she cannot accuse you of not doing your job. its defamation. By the time they checked if they ever did, some of the flyers could have been taken and read. and trust me, they will not check. They are just making false claims. If they did check they might as well do the job themselves instead of hiring you. It does not make economic sense for anyone to hire someone to do the job and then someone to run the whole block to check again.

Or unless they specifically said to stick to the doors and it is still found on the floor then they may have a case.

I think you should ask the company to check if you did you job 1 week later and tell you that you did not do the job but simply dumped the flyers. Even better. You shouldnt have returned the flyers. Should just dump them.

I have done volunteer flyer distribution before for no salary and can give an unbiased view on this.

I think you need to report this company to prevent them from scamming more people;. Report them to MOM.

Thats what my mother said too. whats the point of hiring someone to distribute the flyers when theres a supervisor who will check every blocks. Must well they distribute themselves - save money and time. If they want to eat money they should just say lor...we will walk away oso...

Those bad "employers"... hate them... bad karma..

but not to offend anyone, i tink students fit their criteria of being recruited cos more naive.. and later they can find many excuses to deduct their pay or worse, dun pay..

so i tink whoever found a "job" in the future, pls be extremely careful.. u mus know who u worked for.. meaning the company name.. if no company registered, must know the person's nric to b safe.. yes, i'm not exaggerating the importance.. do take note!!

if the person is so secretive, den might s well 4get taking such risk.. not worth..

ask the person to give u something in writing to proof ur salary too.. eg. sms or email.. per hr how much or distribute how many pcs how much..

you shud find those flyers job whereby its paid according to th numbers you work instead of th amount of flyers you distribute.

I checked the whole story with whoever that is involved. Why don't you tell the whole story out? This is what I heard from dawn and mark. At 4+pm Dawn came over to check, she asked you whether you have distributed properly, she has been in this line long enough to know where distributors will try to "eat snake". After checking for 4 blocks, consistently with the same patterns, those same places are not distributed. She also confronted you to go up together with her to check with the residents whether did they recieve the flyers, why did you cry and refuse to go? This is the best way to prove your innocence since you repeated insisted you DID distribute the flyers. Under the terms and condition, you are REQUIRED to go with the supervisors to check if foul play is suspected.
You called your dad after that, and DAwn had a chat with your dad. Dawn mention your pay will be decide by the management since you breached the terms and conditions. Your dad told her nicely, this is your first time working, you have no experience, doesn't matter whether you recieve the pay or not.
You mention you distributor 9 blocks, Dawn had to check 9 blocks, only to find out the same pattern. You distributed those near the lift and stairs but further you won't distribute. How to have so much coincidence?
Did I send you an sms to ask you what happen to you during the evening time? I heard of the crying incident when I went down to Eunos for coffee.
The next day, you came down with your mum to return the flyers. Mark told you, you have breach the terms and conditions, you are not entitled to any pay but he also offer to pay you for the work you have done (not you have claimed) When you heard about your pay is abt $4 which is 50% off what you have claimed, immediately you rejected it and wanted to leave.
However Mark didn't handle it well when he mention $4 very difficult to issue cheque. This is uncalled for. By the way, the boss has no intention to hold your pay.

Do you have anything to add? Did I missed out something? I'm very willing to listen to your side of story before we take action.

BTW, I'm not your employer. The people you saw are my tenants. I owned the office you saw. That is why til now you never see me.

Let me tell you what you have done. By not being honest, you have caused them to deploy more man power to check the places you have done and to distribute flyers to those units you have not distributed. I was in the office with the boss when this thing happen. That is why you recieve the SMS. These tenants of mine are very hardworking and honest people. They employed a few supervisors to make sure the job is done properly. Whenever the flyers distributors distribute, the supervisors will go and check block by block to ensure the flyers are distributed properly.
If the flyers are not distributed properly, the clients are not happy. Who stand to lose? I hope you touch your own conscience and reflect on this incident. Why so many others who have work for them have no problems except you.

I expect an explanation from you. If not I shall exercise all my rights and pursue this matter to the very end. I spent one whole day trying to get whole of all the people involved to get their statements. My reputation is at stake. I will get the bottom of the whole incident. If you continue to post defamatory remarks without stating your point, I won't hesistate to take legal actions against you.

1) I hope to hear why wouldn't you go together with Dawn to check with the residents since you insisted.

2) If you still insist you distributed, why all the blocks have the same place not distributed? Do u mean all the residents came back at the same time and collected the flyers, the other 50% didn't come back to collect? 50%, do u know that is alot.

By the way, I will collect your pay from the boss tomorrow. Just SMS me your account number and it will be transferred to you.. If you don't want it, name a charity organisation, it will be donated in your name. BTW, your pay might be more, now they are doing tabulation for your pay. And it is out of goodwill.

I also advise all others not to participate in this thread until the truth is out.

To be fair, this morning, Mark admitted miscalculated your pay, your pay should be around $8. I assure you he didn't enjoy his talk with me. I told him if he make a mistake he jolly well admit it like a man. i assure you he didn't have a good time explaining his statement of issusing that cheque because the day before I already had the boss to agree whatever is it, make sure you recieve the pay after deducting what's not done. The boss has no idea the mistakes that have been made.

I didn't read carefully your post till stelly pointed out to me. For that I apologise too. I also insist you recieve your pay, you work for it, you should get paid for it, although I keep stating it is out of goodwill, but this is the same thing I told the boss. I will mail to your house. When you recieve it, kindly sms me to inform me.

I share with you something, if you are sure you have done it right, don't be afraid to confront. Crying won't solve the issues. Dawn is employed to ensure the job is done properly. You are employed to distribute the flyers, everyone has their own role to play.

Also I explain why you should accompany Dawn to check on the spot, so there is no more agruements whether you distributed or not. If yes, Dawn will apologise and she can answer to the boss. This is a business decision, it is not personally directing at you. Why I can answer you in details when I'm not invloved, because I question them one by one and ask what is the reason behind every action and every sentence they say to you.

Anyway the issue is almost settled except I haven't collected ur pay cheque. All the best to you.
