Woman jobless at 36 (28th Apr Straits times) Hi All..
I am Irene. I read today's straits times, and there is a page abt a woman 36 years of age, and she is retrenched. She is divorced, with 2 kids..and she simply can't find a job for 2 years now.
The snack shop found her too young as they want some 40plus yr old aunties, and the bag shop found her too old, as they wanted some younger girls.
A lot of Singaporeans are in this trap i realised. When they are jobless, they simply don't know how to move the next step, and is very bounded by the "rules" or "hiring criterias" of the employers.
I think we should find our own path, try alternative path..Alot of people are trying to make a living with income coming from the internet. I too, started an online business when my husband became jobless and eventually became a cabby. I started this online business, teaching and showing others how to make money online. I strongly urge you to try, and especially this lady mentioned in the papers.
There will be low end labour like collecting plates at foodcourts, which the old folks will be taking up, or foreign indian nationals taking up..So we got to find something that we can make money from , and keep our pride, and still have a life..!
Regards
Aunty Irene
