I heard about this course entitled Health RHythm..i wanted to join in because you get to de-stress while playing percussion instruments but sadly the lesson could not take place because the response was not too good so they had to postpone the class to a later date..
Would you take up new classes such as Health Rhythm where you get to learn how to play hand drums and yet de-stressed all at the same time? :confused2:

Mary, 1st of all you have to understand the demographics and culture here.
Here are some points to ponder over:
1. Most of the people who have the spending power is the working class or those in business. However, both of these target markets are very busy, pushing back their relaxation and private time way late into the evening or night. For children, their school ends in mid-afternoon, not counting in remedial, homework and tuition time. Besides dinner,
what other activities do they WANT to pursue?
2. Most Singaporeans, particularly those age 30 and below are the pop & rock, hip hop generation. Most of them are not exposed to Classical, Folk or World Music, hence they have no interest or awareness of such music/instruments. With such music and cultural background among the youth and working adults,
how are you going to educate and market the benefits of playing drums to them?
3.
Where is the location? When is the class(date & time)? How big is the class? Who are the coaches? What are the benefits? Sometimes large classes may not be feasible considering the population size of Singapore. A common mistake by businesses and coaches of such classes is always an
over-estimation of sign-ups and interested learners.
4.
Did you reach out to the right market?
I may learn if the location is good, has a good coach and it's value-for-money. But most importantly, I have to believe in the benefits before I consider signing up to learn.
