Will there be a recession?

We all know that the oil price is rising and the properties are in a slump and the dollar is sliding. Is there going to be a recession anytime soon? Or is it just seaonal and will be back to normal after 2008?

Any expert here can share some experience?

Analysts are expecting a recession in the US by the 2nd quarter of 08 but just a short 1 and things will turn bright by end 08.

I guess this is just parts and parcel of the economy cycle.

I think so. They called it a Technical Recession where the product is going to cost more than it actually produces due to high oil price and weak US dollars.

Think Singapore can weathered the recession. Can't say for the US.

Singapore's eco is most easily affected because we rely heavily on other countries. If US die, you will see alot of people kissing goodbye to their jobs. If you think China is the next big thing, btw US is buying 60% of China exports. What do you think now?

Actually best is to have a small recession, people are getting too complacent. Especially in the property sector and stock market. I am referring to stock brokers and real estate agents, good service is a thing of the past. Especially real estate agents as I deal with them very often.

Now the situation in Singapore is you pay for good service. You pay $50----u get service A, pay $100, better service. First time I heard of buyers paying comission for purchasing a private proeprty. What has the world come to?

Bush is coming up with plans to lessen the sub prime woes, analysts are expected fed to cut rates even futher, wonder howz the market outlook will be like for the next 6 mths.
