OK I believe we can see in this thread

that why our children are so defenceless in the absence of air-con? I think I have the answers
Bergmann's Rule
The earlist explanation, given by Bergmann when originally formulating the rule, is that
larger animals have a lower surface area to volume ratio than smaller animals, so they radiate less body heat per unit of mass, and stay warmer in cold climates. On the other hand, warmer climates impose the opposite problem: body heat generated by metabolism needs to be dissipated quickly rather than stored within. Thus, the higher surface area-to-weight ratio of smaller animals in hot and dry climates facilitates heat loss through the skin and helps cooling of the body.
Wikipedia.
I know it's a bit scientific but how does that apply to the students well ok. If the kids are subjected to frost biting temperatures[to me lah I cannot tahan Aircon] everyday from year 1.
We are mammals so we have the mammalian ability to produce heat from food. And Plus the fact that humans are eating fatty food these days. The result is that the body being subjected to aircon will automatically sent hunger signals to eat more and so the food is used to fuel our internal fires. As a result their bodies might exhibit traits that usually appear in Arctic Animals. The undigested bits are stored like Blubber in a sea lion or a whale and these act like insulators so overtime they become more and more resistant to cold as more fat get deposited.
Compare these two species bears living in North Pole and Tropical Asia. Which one has more fat?
The lucky ones have their fat deposit evenly distributed so they look normal or even thin and sexy and not fat. But the unlucky get the fats in the wrong places so they look fat. With some much fat, they are unable to cope with a tropical temperature. There are other factors involved too but aircon is just one factor.
