I dunno leh but now the songs sound like they are made in a big rush to make money.
listen to the older songs and you might get what i mean. like Simon and Garfunkel, the older Green Day albums and all those. any1 knows the actual reason why the songs now sound so... i dunno? rushed? Oh yea i'm only 14 but yea i listen to those older songs.

Well, like you already said, it's all about the money in the music business nowadays. In order to fit into the mainstream radio, labels force their artists to make their music sound more polished, more catchy, more "commercial". Like they have to fit into this certain commercial formula that worked. Cos once your music is a hit on radio or mtv, sales will be guaranteed. I guess things were much simpler in the past, so the musicians have more freedom in artistic control as compared to today...

Well that sucks... they make songs not to entertain but making money is priority. they should do some song reflection

Me Too .. I agree.. Bur I dont really listen to English songs..
I used to listen to Chinese songs. I tot no one else notices and something is wrong with my ears haha 
Now only listen to jap songs & old classical music..  | |

Hmm i just bought Utada's new album it was pretty good, all three albums from the killers were pretty awesome as well... depends on what you are listening i guess

my exact sentiments. used to tune in to 98.7fm every night when i was still in pri 4 (6 years ago), now i really dunno what the radio is airing. feels like every song is rapping and need not take a breath, singing machiam like machine gun

Now the entertainment industry is mainly BUSINESS , very few good creations around . Which means, there are still a couple of good ones , but not really recognised .
I'm more into some acoustic english songs (like from Jason Mraz for eg) and japanese songs (maybe less on their vocals but their music) .
But yea, now the mainstream is LOOKS and gimmicks T_T
The "so called singers" out there who can't even get their own vocal keys right when singing live. | |
