As for the best products, price is mostly not a factor and expensive does not necessarily mean the best as long as it works for our skin. However personally i would invest in a better compact powder/foundation and the more expensive ones tend to go on smoothly and has light reflecting properties which in turn makes for better pictures or concealing minor flaws.
Ooh and on the topic of mascara, i've never been a fan of waterproof ones as they take forever to remove even with eye make up remover however some might find that the non waterproof ones tend to smudge within a few hours. My solution for this is false eyelashes and for work the shorter less dramatic ones works best however when it comes to play, there are endless varieties of falsies to go for and i love the criss cross ones with glitter!
Note however that falsies should not be used on it's own to minimise it's "fake" appearance, use liquid eyeliner(thickness to your preference) before sticking it on and a little to touch up areas after. Glue should dry colourless.
So go on Have fun with make up :biggrin4:

There is no quick tips or tricks for applying liquid eyeliner, all i can say is practise doing it. I prefer using harder tipped brushes, a good mid priced one (because i go through tubes of liner!)would be Bourjois liquid eyeliner which i use. This is one item which you do not have to purchase from higher end brands. The ones from Sinma which i've tried and i believe is called Rhomlon works fine too.
While applying it's good to have a magnifying mirror alternatively i hold a small mirror in my other hand and use the other hand to draw, start from the inner eye and don't line it all in one stroke if you can't manage just do it bit by bit but make sure it's of the same "thickness".
I never use pencil eyeliner because it just doesn't deliver the results i like and on the contrary it smudges faster than liquid. Just get a tube and practise!
For foundation, it depends on your skin, i use Lancome's liquid foundation and then followed by a 2 way cake..it doesn't not come off as cakey or thick because i use a few drops of liquid to even out the tone of my skin. You can also use some concealer followed by loose powder for a more natural finish but as skin tends to be/get oily in our climate, a 2 way cake is convenient and reduces shine..the same a pressed compact does but for 2 way cakes, you can wet the sponge and achieve a very made up look which you can't do with normal pressed/loose powder.
However always remember to blot before reapplying your 2 way foundation and wash the sponge often.
2 way cakes i like - ZA and Loreal for mid range or Laniege and Lancome if you have a bigger budget.

Hmm, sometimes tearing could mean the liner is being applied too closed..if you could practice on your own, regardless of using liquid of pencil eyeliner try to draw it slightly above the eyelash line.
Also with the theory about applying make up..it all starts with the notion of applying sunblock(which by now everyone should know is vital to mantaining youthful looking skin because UV rays are skin's greatest enemy) usually well mostly not all sunblock formulas are easily absorbed into the skin so adding some pressed powder/2 way foundation with added SPF will keep the face looking matte.
Think of it this way, if you go barefaced then coming home and washing your face of all the grime and oil or if you have some form of makeup/liquid on your face and then washing it off only to reveal cleaner skin. Anyway make up is not a must, most important is skincare and sunblock.
