STOMPer Jiang was impressed with the new Terminal 3 of Changi Airport.
"It is so nice, big, well-made and well-designed but a bit easy to get lost (maybe it's still new to me)," the STOMPer said.
However, the STOMPer had some doubts after seeing this gate on the way back to the skytrain entrance.
"This particular emergency gate leading to the transit area is left open. Worse still, it's unmanned," the STOMPer said.
"I stood there for almost 20 minutes. Still no security guard bothered to safeguard the entrance despite the fact that two personnel happened to walk past the area," the STOMPer said in an email on Jan 5.
"The Terminal 3 is pre-opened to the public before the official opening to the public. I believe the transit is in operation already as I saw the ICA security already stationed at the transit departure gate as well as the staff entrance side gate.
"For this emergency side gate, I believe it's manned by the staff working inside the transit who may have forgotten to close the door after entering or exiting the transit area because just further down is the exit to the main road for alighting/boarding to go home."
The STOMPer has this suggestion: "T3 should remain closed until the job is completely done. Otherwise this may invite illegal operations or immigrants."
