Default Warrants of arrest / search only served on rich and powerful?

Whenever, police want to search the premise belonging to rich and powerful or wish to arrest someone of high status, police have to get warrant ?

Wahpiang eh...arrow me again....as if I walking Police info dictionary! :disgust2: :cry3: :biggrin4:

1) Any Police Officer with the rank of an ASP and above can enter and search any place without a search warrant. They are known as "walking Warrant".

2) Any Police Officer regardless of rank can search conduct a search without a search warrant if the PO suspects that a serious crime has been committed or is being committed inside the house or that a wanted criminal or a suspect in a crime is hiding inside the house. The PO is also authorised to break into the unit if necessary to apprehend the suspect or criminal (This option is hardly use)

3) Any Police Officer regardless of rank can and may search any house upon been allowed into the premises and consent has been obtained from the rightful owner of the house.

4) Any CNB officer regardless of rank may and can enter any premises as long as he/she suspects that controlled drugs are hidden or being manufactured inside the premises.

Does that clear your doubt? :biggrin4:

The Law does not discriminate the rich, famous, powerful or the poor.

Everyone is equal in the eyes of the Law.

Thats why the statue of the Law is of a Lady. Her eyes are blindfolded which means that all men are equal before her. Her left hand holds a weighting scale which means equal justice to all. Her right hand holds a sword which means justice is serve swiftly to all.
