what damage will fake memory card do to psp? cannot use? btw i heard from this forum that need to check magic gate to see if the memory card is fake. how to check?

erm..go into memory stick...press triangle..information...if its magicgate supported means its a genuine card...

usually fake memory card doesnt cause problem to ur psp, but will cause problems to ur gameplay because it lags during transfer and gameplay (esp when the file is big) plus its lifetime is very short, usually spoils within 6-10mths

yah.. but is recommended to mod your psp with authentic memory card cuz there are ppl who brick their psp when trying mod.. altough chances not high...

another thing about fake memory card is when u transfer a game from ur pc to psp, it will take longer than usual.

inconsistent. have seen reliable ones, EXTREMELY unreliable ones ( e.g can only store 1-2gb )
generally almost all have much slower transfer speed when moving files but a few non magicgate supported ones have speeds as high as genuine cards. Though rare.

Have not experienced any significant difference in speed when playing games. Perhaps eriffej is right about the lifespan.

For those interested, both sony and sandisk MSPD do have fakes so to speak. Sandisk quite rare to see fake but there are so do check. Haven't seen a fake Lexar or fake Red sandisk MSPD though.

seen a fake sandisk. they named it as SANDISC, ZANDISK, Sandisk MAGIQATE.

some look like genuine by far
fake cards spoil faster i think
can last 1-2yrs about there
longer if you can take care properly
mine it broke while inside the card slot
i never even take it out at all
well bought it for more than a year
but it got some chips stuck in my psp that i had to open up and remove myself
tranfering from pc to card takes quite a long times also

im using lexar ms, my psp is pod and i use the plugins. i even install more plugins than usual.

so tell ur that fren, dun bluff la. LOL!

sandisk is da best. theres lots of fake ms written sony brand.
