Steps Needed

*Very Important - Your battery must be charged to 80% before upgrading. Recommended is 100% of cos!

1) After downloading the file, extract it using WinRar. if you do not have WinRar, you can download it here.
2) connect your psp to your pc via usb connection.
3) you will see a folder called "UPDATE". just transfer this file into the memory stick "ms0:/PSP/GAME/", which is the GAME folder in your PSP folder.
4) Disconnect the USB, and go to your games in XMB.
5) you will see the update icon "M33-2". run it like you would an ISO backup.
6) press right on your D-pad, and choose "Accept".
7) press right on your D-pad, and press X to start the update.

Yes, it is that easy! call me at 96446546 or MSN me if you're still not sure.

Cheers!

im trying 2 upgrade 3.71m33-4 to 3.9m33
d/l as per your link
follow your guide
after step 5, it juz hang at "Starting sce updater. Wait..."
... no lights except power led

helppppp!

Your sce updater is not the right one.
Make an Pandora to install the 3.90m33-3
since your psp is on customs firmware, make an Pandora better.

They wont mention on PSP settings. but you need to make sure your PSP is fine before upgrading and downgrading.
Its easy to make an Desperta Cementerio v5 and update it with the desperta updater to install 3.90m33-3

I stumbled upon this page and I guess I came across a bit of problem. My psp is running on 3.52 - M33-4 and so I dled the upgrade that was for 3.52 to 3.9, however when I tried to open the program, it hangs at the screen "unpacking.. done. please wait..."

I was just wondering if i've left any steps out or am I supposed to do a step by step upgrade from 3.5 to 3.8 and then eventually to 3.9, hmm no right? I hope some of the gurus here can help me with it.

Thanks a lot in advance!

Make sure your setting is not kernel 1.50 and must be in M33. U won't have unpacking issue if it is under M33

Hey rayleh, firstly thanks for replying, hmm but mine is M33-4, it should be fine right? I'm not very familiar with upgrading and all actually. Perhaps I can have a direction as to how should I go about upgrading? I heard that you could actually crash your psp if its not done properly so I don't really want to mess my psp up haha.

i don't wish to bring it to game shop because i've no idea what they do also, perhaps someone here can render me some assistance? Really need it, thanks in advance.

No problem.
completely off your PSP back on+R trigger
you should see Recovery menu. then go to Configuration and change the Game mode to No need umd and also make sure the kernel is on 340kernel. click X to change then try again the upgrade.

Good.. no problem.. but i have one thing
go upgrade your PSP to 3.90m33 first then follow by 3.90m33-3 update then install the 150kernel_addon but for the kernel addon you need to put the 150.PBP at your root of your memory stick (=
