Compaq HP admitted they had sold me a defective motherboard when I first purchased it.
I have sent my presario v3000 laptop in for repair in the one year warranty period for seven times, all times faulty due to spoilt motherboard...which all seven times they have replaced a new motherboard for me.

The same laptop recently had the same problem, screen freezing for no particular reason and I just send it in for repair...
The technician told me the problem was the motherboard, again....
Now my warranty is over, I have to pay for the motherboard which they will replace for me at $400...

Because of the past never-ending problems this laptop had in the past, my father and I had a hard time thinking which is more worth...
Paying the $400 or just get a new laptop...
We were discussing that if we have to pay $400 now, the laptop will be spoilt again in a short time and we have to pay like over and over again...
Judging from the situation, HP compaq already admitted selling me a defective motherboard in the first place that is why I have so much doubt in that laptop already...
So it's either that brand is not so good OR the parts they kept replacing were not that good...

Eventually my father thought of taking the spoilt laptop to a technician friend at a cheaper rate so he told me to call compaq to halt the repair. Compaq took note of that and left my laptop untouched..
On the same day, my father called me back and told me that his technician friend was unable to change the motherboard himself as he might not have the correct parts...
So my father told me to call back compaq and just go ahead with the repair as we're willing to pay the $400...

Today, a technician called me and said he DOSENT WANT to replace the motherboard for me already as I can't make up my mind whether do I want to fix this shit or not.
He called me "indecisive" and he sounded very unprofessional.
I just hanged up the phone.
I told my boyfriend what happened and he called the main hotline to enquiry more about this matter.
The person on the phone told us we have the right to change our mind on the repair and he agreed with us that the technician was rude. He has already lodge a complain for us and will get my laptop repaired upon our request.


We never even asked or demand for free fixing or extended warranty but got back bad service...
I have no faith in compaq notebooks anymore..

As per my exp, use the bold part and make sure the tech who tell u that get it. make it big. go hp site send a complaint to the management lvl.

Ok, noted. Think you are just plain unlucky to get a faulty lap-top at the first place.

well actually after the 5th time of going in to ask them to repair for you, you should have asked them to exchange your laptop with either a new one or a different model

ok X_X big problem liew lol cos if u bought it from courts or some other shop u can go back and tell them that they sent u a faulty system and they would change it, but since u got it from IT fair it sums up why u got a faulty laptop X_X the only thing i can help u right now is that after they fix it and return to u right, if it still is faulty go back and request them to change to another pc becos repairing it for the 8-9th time between 1 year is ridiculous

just go down there and demand that they change it for u.....if they dont then report to that goverment service where u complain about the service all that lor..i think case X_X or whatever its called, cos u payed for laptop and its only fair u got what u paid for

hmm... i think u r damn unlucky one... i haf a HP Compaq desktop for many yrs (motherbroad juz R.I.P) then im now using a lappy oso fr Compaq, so far so good... my sister oso got e same model as mine, oso not problem...

but if i were u, definitely veri pissed. To go down 2-3 times oredi rediculous liao, n u actually sent it back for 8-9 times...
