SGC$: 41.20 Bank: 0.00 Total SGC$: 41.20 | I had a friend who studied Political Science in US and she came back not able to find a job. Unless you have passion for it, if not i will advise you not to take that. Think about what you really like and what kind of jobs you want to do next time. It'll help you make your decision. |

SGC$: 232.95 Bank: 1,012.66 Total SGC$: 1,245.61 | I went for NTU open house jus now... have a few courses in mind ( those I think I stand a chance in getting in..), Economics, Psychology, Chemistry... Actually my interest is in Business as well as Mass comm, But ahemm, with my result, I shall got kick out. Dun even stand a chance. Heard tat Business cut-off pts is around AAB and Mass Comm requires at least a B for GP. Then I cant get in most of the engineering course coz I dun take physics plus I'm not interested in engineering at all. Not interested in becoming a teacher and a nurse as well. Dun Wan to study chi lang coz its simply boring. Tat leaves me with oni a few (pathetic) choice of courses... PS: with my result, Wat are my chances in getting in Economic course? |

SGC$: 228.13 Bank: 191.73 Total SGC$: 419.85 | its depends i think. nobody can giv u a definite answer as to what is ur chances, since the standard changes evry yr. i heard the requirement for economic is not that high as told by the ntu student juz now, but math is better if u are good wif it coz calculus will be involve and regression, poisson, normal distribution all those will be used too. but ur econs vry good leh, got a A for H2 somemore, so u can try economic course?=) also, ur chem also quite good got B but u dun want any science engineering course ryte? regarding psychology, i tink its pretty good, but prospects i not vry sure. entry point leh, i juz now went smu ask them which cfm oso quite high de la but their courses seems quite good but cant really rmb what the guy said. not to be wet blanket or wat la, but i feel that to get into smu without at least a A is vry hard, although theres cases or bcc or bbc getting in coz their interview went well. however, my senior hu got AAB and he applied for accountancy at smu but got rejected, really sad. all i can say is no matter wat course u get into, best if u like it and most importantly theres good prospects =) Last edited by hebi : 08-03-2008 at 08:09 PM. |

SGC$: 51.45 Bank: 516.76 Total SGC$: 568.21 | FASS = Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences its' NUS' non-science, non-business fac. ie arts(duhh) for me, i'd choose to do econs if i weren't able to get my course ![]() Yay!!! SGC$: 926.25 Bank: 51.94 Total SGC$: 978.19 | close enough. NUS 's Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences Agreed that u have to find a balance between passion and prospects. Prospect for psychology is ok lah. MY viewpoint that with Singapore's growing competativeness and aging society, there will be a demand in practitioners who are able to understand the problems of the mind among the citizens and provide a service to help and alleviate these problems. In addition you may branch in other aspects of psychology ie sports psychology, human psychology etc.. I goin to Ngee ann poly doing Psychology and Community Service. ![]() Click `N get Cash at To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. SGC$: 232.95 Bank: 1,012.66 Total SGC$: 1,245.61 | Another questions to ask: 1) I noe tat at least a B for GP is required to enter mass comm course in NTU, is the requirement the same for Communication & New media as well? 2) Wat are the career prospects for Economic Course? Can I join Business related company in the future? 3) Is Project & Facilites Management Course a good course? Any info on wat r my chances of getting in and the career prospects? |

SGC$: 228.13 Bank: 191.73 Total SGC$: 419.85 | yea actually thats the case most of the time. my form teacher teaches me math, but she actually studied computer science but then may have slight relation since computer science still requires quite abit of math. then another teacher of mine is a PE teacher and coach of rugby team, but he actually had a master degree in economics. so just go for whichever courses u like =) |

With your kind of results for maths, I think the question is whether you are prepared to take maths in university. I went to the smu open house and I asked an econs student how much maths does he do in his course. He told me 70%. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||

SGC$: 232.95 Bank: 1,012.66 Total SGC$: 1,245.61 | Yes, I'm from JJ. U knew me? Tat student at the NTU Open house told me 1st yr econs in NTU is veri similar to A-level H2 econs... And with my H2 econs getting an A, I believe I can cope wif it. What I hope now is tat I can get into NTU econ course, do well in 1st yr and get to do double major in either Business or mass comm ( this 2 r the courses I like but I cant get in de...) |
