hi peeps.. ter's a adoption drive on 24 / 25 May 08 at Vivo City, Level 3, Pet Safari by (Action for Singapore Dogs Society) ASD Singapore.

I chanced upon this society last year. Read some rescued dogs stories.. I'm so touched everytime.. Will read till tears flow..

Some were abused, abandoned by owners or hit n run by drivers.. I hope the dogs will be able to find a home soon!!

If you are not able to adopt one, but wish to help, you can also donate or even volunteer yourself.

Just hope more pple will learnt the efforts of the rescue unit and try to help as much as possible!!

as for me i dun mind but i mind the very mafan process & procedures and most of the dogs are not HDB approved in SPCA. how 2 adopt?????!

Yes, I support adoption from animal shelters, etc ...
( I learnt & still learning after being a new dog owner )

Animals need love & care from us.
Human could self defence but not animals,
they depend totally on us ......( live or die!! )

They can't voice!! This is so sad.

Life is already not a bed of roses
eventhough we could voice, defend etc etc.
But what can a helpless animal do?

Save lives instead of creating more life!!

Love nature, love the world.
That include all the livings things on earth.

As a matter of fact, these lovely creatures do give
us lots of joy, unconditional love etc....
( not to mention the pee/poo )

We could only repay them by being kind to animals!

Haha , in fact I just adopted a one-year-old hammy from SPCA. It sounds silly to many, coz i paid 10 bucks for an old hamster while I could have bought a younger one at a cheaper price. Unlike what some of my friends said, I don't think there is a difference btwn so-called 2nd hand pet and first hand. Aren't the pets you bought from the pet shops 2nd hand since they have been kept by the shopkeepers. Since the animals have a much higher chance of getting euthanized, they definitely, at least, deserve equal amount of care. I don't think the sterilization thing plays a part, unless you really want them to breed. In essence their lives are just as precious as those in the pet shops.
Actually I wanted to adopt a bunny from HRSS. But don't have the time to maintain haha.

i will rather go SPCA 1st..
cos the animals there will b put to sleep...
HRSS will b next since they willb housed by the volunteers there for a while..
at least the time s on the HRSS labis side...

i m a volunteer in HRSS leh..
i luv labis...

Well, my answer is hell YES.

my dog passed away on sunday. the vet proposed putting him to sleep loads of times. but of cos, we choose not to choose when to take away the life of our precious companion. yes, he may be in great pain. but he still wags his tail at us when we reach home. how can we bear to snatch his life away?

anyway, back to the point. the phrase " putting him to sleep " haunts me a lot. and i really cant imagine how people at SPCA can even bear putting animals to sleep. my opinion is, they should put in more effort. if they are really sincere, they would really go out there and find suitable homes for those homeless furkids. thus, if i ever get another dog, i would 100% go to SPCA. to me, adopting a pet from there = saving a life. it would make a difference for them. if everyone of us put in effort, we can prevent all these innocent furkids form being euthelized. in conclusion, ADOPT, never BUY. (:

as for the hammie thing, yes indeed they might be old and might be reaching the end of their lives. however, why not just use the money you planned on spending on a polo tee to adopt a hamster and care for it? at least it got you when it leaves this world. let it feel loved during the last period of their lives.

however, if you are living in hdb, then the most you can adopt are rabbits/hamsters.
since 9/10 of the dogs are all not hdb approved..
which is really a bummer, as there are alot of young & sweet natured mongrels up for adoption.

yeah, AVA should re-consider this fact. the breeds that are HDB approved are far too little. this is also a cause of more and more dogs being sent to SPCA. sighs... i just hope something can be done. maybe more animal shelters? im not sure. but i know when i grow up, i will do something about it. (:

A touch of education on animals would be appreciated.

It's all about :
Loving, Kindness & Compassion.

I knows, it takes lots of time & efforts,
not forgetting providing nutritional food
for the furkids.

- Good food is impt in order to prevent all
kind of allergies as much as possible.
