Fixed Deposit Acct from most banks offer slightly higher interest rates however if you are interested can go for e-Saver from SC.

currently highest interest rate for savings account is maybank's i-savvy.

Sry but justto check is isavvy similar to e-saver as it both are like online saving accounts?

yup. but e-saver got no minimum balance, isavvy is $500 i think.

How about citibank step-up interest account? seems like if you keep your balance increasing with each month, you can have 2% interest after 12 months. if the balance is lower than the previous month, it gets reset to base rate(0.6875%). After reaching 2%, if your balance is more than 20k, u just need to keep it at that level to retain the 2% interest rate.

I don't use that though, using maybank.

i suppose it pretty much the same for all bank, as in you can't see the difference unless you have a decent amt to deposit which earn you a different tier of interest.

else you could try putting your money into fundsupermart cash fund. it's by far the best for me. but there's no atm card or immed liquidity if you nid instant cash.

rather going into overseas, i still believe in our SG bank & currency. It is much safer & our currency is also strong. no worries about bank going bankrupt as govt is focusing alot on our financial sectors (such as insurance, banks). so far i compared online for banks, is still standard chartered?
