Trust me not at all or all in all ~ Alfred Lord Tennyson

Tennyson is one of my favorite poets. He as the ability to say so much in so little. This quote I came across the other day in chemo and it got me thinking about trust and how some people think there are levels of trust.

I don't think there are levels of trust, you either completely trust someone or you don't, how can there be a middle ground? I want a person to either completely trust me or not trust me, not trusting me just a little. Everyone I met gains my trust, it's not automatically given, and earning my trust is a hard thing to do.

Trust to me is a very important thing as I think it was to Tennyson. You can't just trust someone a little, if you do, how much trust do you expect them to place in you? I don't expect people to trust me right off the bat, I want to earn it... I respect it and appreciate it all the more then.

Trust is only breeched when one failed to meet the expectations of another. It depends all on pespective, if I am willing to lend you $10 doesn't mean I will trust you enough to lend you $1000. Circumstances and situation plays important roles in tursting too.

Another instance comes where by I am willing to be your friend doesn't mean I trust you to share my secrets and personal problems. There are too many factors that build up the trust factor, speaking of 2 ways, trust or don't trust is quite incomplete actually.
