HE was trying to do a good deed by stopping four men from stealing a car.

Instead, Mr Tan Chee Wai, was stabbed to death by the thieves, who fled without the car.
The case has been classifed as murder, reported The New Straits Times.

Mr Tan, 31, a general worker at a nearby business centre, had just left home for work on Friday morning when he saw four men trying to break into a Perodua Kenari in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur.
According to China Press, Mr Tan shouted in Malay: 'Hey, are you trying to steal?'
'For that, he was stabbed at least three times in his chest and abdomen,' said ACP Rosli.
The car owner heard the ruckus outside her house and rushed out to help Mr Tan. But he died on the spot - just 500m from his home.
Mr Tan's grandmother, Madam Lim Ah Lau, wept as she told reporters that Mr Tan had left home earlier than usual as he had a lot of work to do.
Mr Tan's mother, Madam Saw Meng Keow, said her son fell off his motorcycle 10 years ago and suffered head injuries, which restricted his movements. He has been on medication since.
'Despite his injuries, he was helpful to everyone he met,' she said.
The police are now on a manhunt for the suspects, who escaped on two motorcycles.
