Total SGC$: 45.50 | Travel Information on Macau Planning to go Macau this coming end April which is next month. Will be going for 5D4N. Any recommended hotel to stay (location, price, review of hotel). Have checked a few hotel and decent 3 star hotel is around SGD500+ for the 4 night stay.
And what are the interesting places to visit? (sightseeing, shop, eat, night view etc.) Shopping is not the main purpose of my trip, more for the sightseeing and night view. And what are the famous local delicacies. What's the best way to get around Macau? Bus, Cabs??
And during this period, I will set 1 day aside and take a ferry to Hongkong too. Heard a 1 way ferry ticket is around SGD25++, anyone can confirm that? Is the currency exchange rate same as Hongkong currency?
So checking out with whoever has been to Macau before, kindly provide me with information about Macau from the most basic (transport, hotel, currency, weather, places to go, eat, shop etc.) and things to take note of. If you still remember your last itinerary, can post it here for me to go through so that I can make full use of my time there. Please feel free to post whatever information you have even if you think it is not important cos it might be important to me.
Thanks in advance for all help.

The public bus system is really cheap, about 2.50 per trip, but its extremely confusing and the bus drivers aren't exactly a helpful bunch. the same bus can stop at the same bus stop several times as it travels round its route and its hard to tell where its heading to in a short time. It will help if you can read chinese characters cos the Portuguese info can be very confusing.
You can use HK$ there and its interchangeable with their money much like SGD is on par with brunei $. |

Yea, heard from my friend that the trip is 1 price per trip no matter how many stops you are taking. So it means the bus do not have a fixed destination and they can travel whatever route they like? |

The buses have fixed routes but not easy to comprehend. It is 2.50 per trip regardless of distance so whether it is 1 stop or 10 stops, it is still 2.50.
If you are heading to the casinos, catch the free shuttles from the bus terminal at the ferry terminal.
Ferry tiks are HKD137, i think |

I wanna spend more time there...
Wanna go visit all the other lesser known sites...
Went to the St. Paul's Ruins (Da San Pa) and the Kwanyin Temple (Kwuang Yam Tung)
Went to Taipia to check out their old food street, turns out to be quite small and miserable.
Go visit the casinos, they are quite beautiful. Can also go to the fisherman's wharf. |
