RECKLESS-DRIVING CELEB 1
Witnesses on what Lindsay Lohan told them after she hijacked their car for high-speed chase
JUST before Hollywood actress Lindsay Lohan was arrested on Tuesday morning, she comandeered a car and raced down a highway in an apparent rage.
In an interview with TMZ.com website, Mr Dante Nigro, Mr Jakon Sutter and Mr Ronnie Blake said they had driven to Malibu on Monday afternoon with the boyfriend of Lohan's assistant.
Lohan and her unnamed assistant then ran into the three men. Later, the assistant text-messaged MrNigro, saying that Lohan wanted to invite him to a party that night.
Mr Nigro and his friends drove to the party. He and the assistant's boyfriend were allowed in, but Mr Sutter and Mr Blake had to remain outside.
Mr Nigro said Lohan was never without a drink during the evening.
At one point, Lohan's assistant and her boyfriend went outside and got into an argument. Lohan also stepped out and got angry at her assistant. The assistant then said 'I quit', which enraged Lohan further.
Mr Blake told TMZ.com that Lohan looked 'very messed up' and was 'raging'.
When Mr Nigro and his friends were ready to leave, they got into his car. The assistant's boyfriend was at the wheel and about to drive off when he got out and continued the argument with his girlfriend. She then got into her own car and left.
According to the group, Lohan suddenly jumped into the driver's seat of Mr Nigro's car and began chasing her assistant's car.
Mr Blake said he was so fearful that he jumped out of the car as it accelerated. Just as he hit the ground, he said Lohan ran over his foot and just kept going.
Mr Nigro and Mr Sutter said Lohan then hit Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu.
Mr Nigro said he tried to grab the wheel, prompting Lohan to say: 'If you touch me, I'll sue you.'
The two men said Lohan was driving at 160kmh and they pleaded with her to stop.
They said Lohan caught up with her assistant's car and began circling it.
At one point, she boasted: 'I can't get in trouble. I'm a celebrity. I can do whatever I want.'
The assistant finally lost Lohan on the highway. MrNigro says Lohan thought the assistant was going to her mother's house in Santa Monica so she drove there.
The assistant's mother was pulling into her driveway as Lohan arrived.
Mr Nigro said the mother panicked at Lohan's crazy driving and backed out of the driveway in fear. The guys said Lohan then began to chase her at speeds of up to 128kmh through Santa Monica.
Mr Nigro realised the mother was driving to a police station and warned Lohan that if she didn't stop, she'd get into trouble.
He said she responded: 'I'm a celebrity. I'm not going to get in trouble.'
The two cars stopped near the police station. When the police approached, Mr Nigro said it seemed as if Lohan told officers: 'I wasn't driving. The black kid was driving.'
She was apparently referring to one of the two men in the car, although it is not known which one.
Mr Nigro and Mr Sutter say they saw Lohan fail the drink-driving test.
What's more, the tape of a distress call was made public late on Thursday.
The police said the woman - identified as the mother of Lohan's assistant - was being chased by Lohan when she made the call to an emergency 911 line, reported AP.
The tape revealed a woman pleading for help and witnesses saying the actress believed she was immune from punishment.
Lohan's arrest on Tuesday was the second time in a month that she has been slapped with drink-driving charges.
