Top 10 turn-offs for men

1 - Wearing too much make-up
Our lads tell us that the tideline (that foundation mark between your face and neck) is a really bad look. So, too, are excessive lipstick (one bloke says he really can't abide the whole dark-lipliner/pale-lippy look), sticky lipgloss and perfume. Remember, less is more!

2 - Picking at food
He's not going to invite you over to his for a home-cooked meal if he thinks you're going to fret over every teeny tiny calorie in your duck Ã l'orange or, worse still, spit it up later. Rabbiting on about your latest attempt to shed 20lbs won't inspire much confidence, either. Enjoy your meal!

3 - Bitter backbiting
Saying negative or derogatory things about men such as 'all men are idiots' or 'there are no good men left in the world' is a mistake. Regardless of whether you are serious or not, you run the risk of alienating or degrading the perfectly nice chap you're with

4 - The ex-factor
Talking about your exes is a big no-no. This is sacred territory reserved for men you've known longer than two hours. Or two months, for that matter...

5 - G-strings are wrong
Believe it or not, ladies, men aren't into G-strings (not to be confused with thongs!). Don't wear one if you think there's even the remotest possibility that you're going to be removing your trousers at any point in the evening. Try to remember to wear some d**n sexy knickers â€“ think slinky, silky and saucy. They may be convenient, but G-strings are (according to our blokes) a BIG no-no. Just not sexy. At all

6 - Armpit stubble
Our seasoned professionals tell us that while a little leg hair is passable, armpit stubble is awful to look at and not so hot to stroke, either. De-fluff yourself before embarking on your date

7 - Teddy bears
Stuffed toys adorning the bedroom, 'hanging out' in the back seat of your car or dangling from the rear-view mirror are an instant turn-off. What self-respecting bloke wants to get down and dirty amongst a whole family of Cabbage Patch Kids?

8 - Extreme drunkenness
Tipsy and affectionate is good. Downright drunk and lecherous is not, especially if it means your man is holding your hair while you empty the contents of your stomach into the nearest ladies'

9 - The muffin
You know that bit of flab that hangs over the top of your low-rise jeans, creating a kind of cupcake effect? Apparently, it's not a bad thing that we have it... guys love our soft and slightly fatty bits. But if you're wearing a tiny crop top so that that particular area is accentuated, it's not good. Openly wondering what your combined children would look like or deciding on whether to wear white or ivory at your wedding ceremony on a first date is not good. You may be clandestinely signing your first name with his last name on the table napkin while he's in the loo, but questions such as, 'So, what school would we send little Leo (or Lucy) to?' will have him running a mile
