Recently i was out with some friends at vivo and saw 1 beautiful husky with an ang moh owner..Looking at its beautiful fur, i said to my friends
Me: wow i'd want to have a husky next time!
friend: its too hot for husky to live in singapore! they'll get white spots!

i have seen a husky around my place. they are able to leave in Singapore, provided you provide them with their needs. i.e. you may have to spend alot on aircon.

Yes i think i agree.. maybe for sleeping , i think day can... but they really drop alot of fur XD

furry dogs or dogs with long hair are more for cold countries
such dogs in sg will tend to shed a lot of hair and also more prone to skin diseases in sg

Husky is more to cold place. They need to sleep in air-con room... and very cold type... If not,they will get sick easily... Yup..their fur drop alots but is pretty/handsome when it grew older. If I'm not wrong, husky are not allow in HDB flat. Even can, the license is very expensive...

actually huskies do survive well in SG (have personally seen quite a lot)

n u dun really need that much air con as everyone thinks... =)

When u have a dog from africa , do remember to have a heater, singapore might not be hot enough:biggrin4:

Just joking la, they might be more prone to heat-stroke and thier body can slowly adapt also if its from young.

I Love Husky...
When they are puppies, very cute n adorable.
when they are grow older, they look fierce like wolves, their eyes r beautiful too. Got the man feeling of the dog too. :biggrin4:

Get a bull-terrier, fiercer than husky. Huskies are actually quite loving but need strict & experience owner.

I think its really cruel to keep a husky in singapore. They need the cold climate.. Really breaks my heart when i see them having to deal with singapore's humidity. :disgust2:

from what i understand, husky need to be kept in a cold place, as with the singapore's weather, husky will sweat a lot due to their natural habitat being cold? and they will become very smelly very fast also not forgetting what some posts above states fur dropping etc..

My understanding is that husky can survive well in singapore, provided that they are not left in the garden and under the sun. Due to their fur, they are more afraid of heat but being indoor, either with fan or with aircon is just fine for them. They are also very active dogs, hence will need lots of attention, lots of exercise and lot of water.

there was this very sad incident in singapore where this stupid owner left his husky out in the garden under the blazing hot sun without any water or shelter for a whole day. the husky died of heat stroke in the end.
