A bus enthusiast! Congratulations, that's a first for me too! I never heard of such an enthusiast =P

Anyway what is not to be complained of in Singapore?

Buses in Singapore are fine as it is as a whole!

Problems that I found while I was on the bus... the people. NOT the bus.

I think the complains would be mostly targeted at the passengers of the bus and not the bus themselves.

Always the usual complaints from passengers like
  • Slow, thus long waiting time.
  • Even not slow go very fast but zham brake when reaching bus stop. and then ppl stammer and alomst fly everywhere in the bus.
  • Ppl un-coorperative as to move to the back of the bus and keanna scoleded from some passengers or even bus drivers like behind got ghost ah.

And the answer to the woes are:
  • Traffic jam bo bian.
  • Lolz of course must brake lah or else bus waste fuel to reverse gear again. But if can control the better
  • The bus end has a slope up so sometimes it is uncomfortable to stand there as it is a slope.

ps: in Singapore, we do have a bus enthusiats, just that we did not form any organisation to support it.
Hongkong, UK, Australia, USA even have clubs, societies and organisations for the interest.
currently there are thousands of bus enthusiats in Singapore alone, and some are female too.
most of the bus enthusiats are usually ranged from the age of 10 yrs and above and we usually specialised in different types of things from the bus technical stuffs to bus registrations and also the bus routes.

for myself, i'm specialised in Australian buses technically and Singapore buses on its route and technical stuffs.

Good to know.

But what do you guys do? Hangout together talking about bus or something? =)

Just curious. Or are you planning to go professional and be a consultant to some bus company or something? Like making it a career?

Thanks to those people having cars.
Remember bus lane end at 8pm from Monday to Sat.
and yet, i see motorist moving into the bus lane (with the yellow & red line).
motorist can only turn to a bus lane with dotted red and yellow line for turning.

for the second one, most probably a car cuts the bus lane so the driver have to zham the brake. it happen in those busy area where cabs stop illegally, eg: Marine Parade Rd (Bef Parkway Parade)

no choice. you wanna take the bus when its full, move to the rear!
the longer you delay, the longer the bus will WAIT for you to move in.
the slopes are due to the engine placements.
here are some infos, FYI:

Single decks.:

1. Volvo B10M: Mid-Engined, slopes downwards to the centre exit.
2. Volvo B10BLE Diesel (SBS1688K): Rear engine, the further you move in, the higher you'll get. one of the 2 low floor, non-wheelchair accessible buses in SG
3. Volvo B10BLE Compressed Natural Gas (SBS2988-SBS2997L).: Same as the diesel sibling. this bus feed on CNG Gas! and is low floor.
4. Mercedes O405: Rear will slope a little, dure to the engine and it sometimes overheats..
5. Scania N113CRB.: Gentle slope, but rear seat a little high, noticeable by a step up for the last row. it VIBRATES terribly for some of them..
6. Scania L94UB (SBS2888T): same as above, but is one of the 2 Firsts low floor, non-wheelchair accessible buses in SG
7. Scania K230UB (NEW!) Wheelchair Accessible Bus: Low Floor, but rear is VERY HIGH! Some has seat belt for the last row centre seat. (SBS8888D is one of them)
8. Dennis Dart: Cutest bus, no much sloping, rear seating rised, shortest public bus in SG at a length of 9.4metre (Public buses length is ard 11.8m-12m), serving sevice 42 and 92/92A

Double Decks:
1. Volvo Olympian (2 Axles) Non-Aircon: Gentle slope to rear.
2. Volvo Olympian (3 Axles): Gentle slope to the rear.
3. Volvo Super Olympian (Volvo B10TL): Gentle slpoes leading to the rear after the exit. 1st Low floor Double decker in SG)
4. Dennis Trident III: Low floor, gentle sloping to the rear.
5. Volvo B9TL Wheelchair Accessible Bus: After the Exit, no slope, but a step up to the rear. (First Wheelchair Accessible buses in SG)

hmm.
we hangout usually during School holidays (as most are students) and take various special buses such as the newly released Scania k230UB WAB, the going-to-be-sent-off Volvo B10-70, the only 14metre public bus in Singapore (SBS997A, found on service 62).

we do have something called bus spotting, to spot buses which are missing from their original service.

at times, we try to organise bus depot visits too.

we usually go out to places to catch pics of the buses, and we share them thru bus online communities, which i usually does that.

some pics of my bus photography on the new buses that was recently launched.
the Scania K230UB..

working for bus companies hur... see first lor...

On SBS8888D when it was OFF SERVICE, a service 105 bus was infront of us, and the bus was empty, just me, my friend and a lady bus driver! (look at the reflection of the Electronic display)
