Encounter this incident today that really spoilt my Sunday.

Was casually walking along Suntec with my friend so we stepped into FaceShop just to look around. No intention to buy anything. Den both of us came to this cosmetics section. So I casually pick up a lip gloss tester (din even label "Tester" but I guess it is coz its only partially filled) , open the cap to see the color. Look see look see only u noe? And all the time this sales gal kept standing beside mi to watch.

Ok, here comes the part. Coz the tester lip gloss is supposed to be rainbow color but coz people used too many times so can only see a shade of red left, instead of stripes of red den brown. In other words, the tester is supposed to look like rainbow color , in shades of red and brown. (And I only noticed this when I get home coz the SMALL sticker indicated so. ) That is why when I see rainbow color wan I tok its different from the tester I picked up.

SO, without noticing the difference between tester lip gloss and the rainbow lip gloss (which I believe anybody would do the same thing as mi without looking REAL closely) , I picked up the rainbow wan thinking it is a tester and a different color wan coz its placed next to the wan I picked up, den open the cap to see. And that is when the sales gal said "Er, u opened dat u gota pay."

Then I "WHAT?"

Then she said that is a new lip gloss. If I opened I gota pay otherwise no customers would want. Then I was like "But its placed next to the tester leh. And I can't even tell whether its a tester lo!"

Then she was like "Its our policy. Otherwise we gota pay for them."

Then I was like "I only open the cap leh. Din even use. LIdat I HAVE TO BUY?"

Then she like dun dare to speak. Then the other staff come over also told mi i need to pay.

End up I bobian pay for the DAMN lip gloss which I feel I've been cheated just by opening the stupid cap.

And now thinking back, I still dun understd how come I gota pay when I didn't even use? Somemore the sales gal and my fren witnessed it. And the thing is, they can easily stick scotch tape around the cap so it looks like nobody open before. SO WHY I BLOODY HELL NEED TO PAY FOR IT!!!! SEE COLOR ALSO NID TO PAY?!

DAMN DAMN DAMN DAMN. I angry not becoz of the cheap lip gloss. ITS BECOZ I FELT CHEATED!!!

IM NOT GOING TO STEP FOOT INTO THAT F****** SHOP EVER AGAIN!

Was there any label or sticker that is on the cap? If there is none... i don't see why you have to pay for it at all... But if you have broken the label or sticker on the cap then.... you usually have to pay for it, if the store sees it.

No. Only plastic cover. Can see through somemore. No sticker paste on top of plastic also.

Well if you mean the plastic cover protection seal that cover the cap... then normally you have to pay... IF they sees it... and If they didn't... of course you can just put it back and walk away...

For example: if you sees a product with its protection seal broken... will you still buy it? Normally people will think its used or something ma....


But from what you said... they were just standing next to you and wait till you do it... without warning you... I think they also wanted you to open it... so you must buy it.

Yes precisely. All the while she's watching and yet after I opened then she said that wan new wan not tester. So its like

1) they din even properly separate the tester/new wan.
2) after customer open den say "HOR NEED TO BUY!"

i thought bodyshop and faceshop was the same company but not...
didnt really like faceshop too, they should put a label or warning there like if u open then need pay or smth...plus the salesperson just stood there? she could have told u or smth lor.... bet that they're part time ..

i also bought one of their face wash , sucks man and their attitude sucks too

hmmm...you're the customer. can the shop actually force you to buy? i mean, you can just say,

" I didn't know, you didn't tell me" or

"here never write leh" or

"i have NO fking $$".

serious arh, the shop can force anyone to buy one meh?? wah lau. we need CASE's protection already!
