Recently watched this show @Cathay Cineplex in M'sia..

Synopsis of e movie:

After losing his crew in a fatal crash, legendary Rescue Swimmer, Ben Randall (KEVIN COSTNER), is sent to teach at “A” School, an elite training program for Coast Guard Rescue Swimmers. Wrestling with the loss of his crew members, he throws himself into teaching, turning the program upside down with his unorthodox training methods.

While there, he encounters a young, cocky swim champ, Jake Fischer (ASHTON KUTCHER), who is driven to be the best. During training, Randall helps mold Jake’s character, combining his raw talent with the heart and dedication required of a Rescue Swimmer.

Upon graduation, Jake follows Randall to Kodiak, Alaska, where they face the inherent dangers of the Bering Sea. In his initial solo rescue, Jake learns firsthand from Randall, the true meaning of heroism and sacrifice, echoing the Swimmer’s motto...”So Others May Live!”

The movie is good! Anybody watched it?

It's over already here in SG.
I watched it too and it's SUPERB.
I believe uncle CALIS feels the same too.

Yes, it's screened it SG some time ago. However, it's worth acquiring the DVD and watch it again.

There are many scenes and scenarios where it takes personal experience and immersion into REAL LIFE situation before the full impact and meaning can be appreciated. An example is the tough balance between the job + responsibility as a rescuer and a family man cum husband.

In addition, listen carefully to the lessons (sentences & statements) taught to his students as he trains them. And chew through why he applies such 'unorthodox' methods for his training.

Here are 2 true, simple but deep statements quoted from the movie (and in the trailer):
1. There comes a time when you might have to decide who LIVES and who DIES.
2. The only mission and motto: SO OTHERS MAY LIVE

I love what is being taught in the movie.
It's really insightful.
I am just so in love with the quotes. :mellow3:
