Tourist site but not as developed. Lotsa sea sports/ activities. Went ter last year.

Cab fare from airport to Krabi town or hotel is flat rate 600 baht but from hotel to airport can bargain till 400-500 baht depending on ur skills.

I went sea kayaking. U can c a lot of jelly fishes.. big & transulcent purplish.. the guide brought mi & 3 frens to a "deserted" shore along the way.. scary cos' lots of monkeys approaching, targeting the watermelon which the guide brought for us..

In e end, we tot it's better idea to pack & leave.. in case we can't handle the monkeys.. lol..

Very memorable trip.. highly recommended to go Krabi..

Note: Be careful though if u & ur fren not familar with kayaking.. cos the current is stronger.. I tear my back muscle and the pain was unbearable.. luckily I bought travel insurance and was fully reimbursed for my medical fees.. Nevertheless, will go back again..

Njoy ur trip!! :biggrin4:

i stayed Ao Nang Sunset booked from asiarooms.com

I went to the massage centre next to my hotel.. pretty nice.. can negotiate price further from wat it's stated..

yes.. pls try island hopping if not raining.. i wanted to but not enuff time previous trip..

i din go emerald pool but i went tiger cave.. i took a taxi from krabi town with 3 frens.. (we negotiated to 400 baht). On top of the temple, they say it's a big buddha footprint.. which i din climb up.. it's reali too high.. hundreds steps if i recall correctly.. there's also many monkeys there.. so scare they'll snatch my camera or scratch me.. lol..

there r a lot of local travel agents selling their local trips such as island hopping, james bond island, or elephant trekking or sea kayaking.. they close about 10pm..

do rem to travel to Krabi Town.. take their Song Teow (mini bus) but it's actually a pickup with shelter.. the speed they go is like initial D.. it's safe and cheap.. if i rem correctly, it's 20 baht.. dun take their tuk tuk ter..

Krabi is for people who want to have a relaxing and laidback holiday trip.

For hotels, Aonang Resort, Buri Tiaria and Aonang View is not bad. If you have spare cash, can try Peace Laguna. You are basically staying at a 5-star hut resort with outdoor Balinese shower and jacuzzi bathtub.

Island hopping is a must in Krabi. Please do visit Hong Island for kayaking. You will have an unforgettable experience kayaking between the caves and admiring the clear blue seawater. Maya Island located near to Phi Phi island is also another must-visit. Maya beach is the filming location for Hollywood movie 'The Beach'.

Railey island is also a good beach resort. Can travel to Railey beach by long tail boat.

There are lots of different type of massage over there. It range from Thai massage, sports massage, milk lotion massage & oil massage. Standard market rate cost about 200-300 baht (S$8-S$10) for an hour long of luxury kneading.

Foodwise, can eat the seafood to your heart's contentment as it is very cheap in Krabi! There are also abundant of seafood restaurant over there! Check out the pancake stall which are scattered along Aonang. Their pancakes have plenty of flavours ranging from mango, nutella, banana with chocolate and lots more! It cost only 20 baht! Taste wise is better than our own roti prata with fillings!

For those seeking for thrills, rent a motorbike and enjoy the scenary in Krabi. Aonang is a rather small town and you can finished touring around in your bike in less than half a day. It cost S$6 for rental up to 24hrs! You can rent the bike even though you have no bike license as their motor bike is all automated. Tourist will have to submit their passport when they rent the bike so please do visit reputable bike rental shop.

it is mangoteen & longan season.. very sweet.. if u r riding a bike, buy from those farmers.. only charge S$0.20 per kg.. cheap like siao!

ao nang villa is popular there.. next to it is golden beach resort..

try out one of the massage centre called "let's sea, let's relax.. directly opposite macdonald/7-11.. deco nicer than other massage places.. and more private... prices wise.. slightly bit expensive.. but still affordable.. traditional thai massage costs 300THB for 60min.. aromatheraphy massage costs 500THB for 60 min

try Le Casa pizza(32cm) costs 150THB.

the pad thai aka glass noodle with prawn very yummy too!!

we also went fishing trip.. paid 1000THB per pax.. went on long tail boat for 2 hrs - 4pm to 6pm.. caught a fish..cant remember the name.. we bought the fish to night market(selling zi-char and BBQ food) opposite krabi resort.. she only charged us few dollars for cooking the fish.. hehe! we also had 2 giant BBQ prawns.. costs around S$6.

the road is safe.. very peaceful town..

Hiya.. I went Krabi back in Nov 2005.

LOVE the place!! Would love to go back Krabi again..
It's a wonderful place to rest & relax. Very laid back attitude kinda place.
Food is very cheap, seafood is fresh too. You gotta go for the day tours and island hopping. MUST go phi phi island, the scenery there is beautiful.. The water is exceptionally clear and perfect for snorkeling.
Massage there is reasonably priced too. I had an oil massage in the resort that I stayed in (Krabi Seaview Resort), just beside the pool, out in the open.. Bliss!!

Here's some photos to share of Krabi..

Kayaking ... Lime Stones

Fish Galore

Amazing View huh..

Hope you'll enjoy Krabi as much as I did..
