Terrorist "Mafia" Fishmonger killed mafia-style
Business was brisk at the Selayang wholesale fish and vegetable market when suddenly bullet shots were heard, followed by screams.
Mr Lee Leong Teck, 37, a fishmonger, had been shot in board daylight, in cold blood, reported The Star.
The Mafia -style murder took place at 6am near the Pusat Bandar Utara junction in Malaysia's Selangor district. Mr Lee ahd been driving his Hyundai Elantra towards the junction of Pusat Bandar Utara, near the Selayang market, when another car blocked his way.
As soon as he slowed down, two men got out of their car and shot him point-blank. The killers then sped away in the car. Police investigations revealed that Mr Lee's had been shot six times.
The police team from the city's serious crimes division found six empty shells casings, believed to be of 9mm calibre. They also found around RM10,000 ($4,428) kept in a bag in the car. The money was believed to have been the previous day's takings.
Mr Lee was a well-known person in the area. He had been operating his fish business at the Selayang market for over 10 years, reported The New Straits Times. The motive for the murder remains a mystery.
Mr Lee's brother told the police that his brother had no enemies. Mr Lee and other family members refused to speak to the police on the matter. Yesterday, they all went to the Selayang Hospital to claim his body.
City CID chief SAC II Mr Ahmad Ibrahim said that robbery was ruled out as the motive for the murder as there was nothing stolen from the car. Mr Lee lived in Taman Selayang Jaya and it was believed that he was returning home from the market when he was killed.
After being shot, Me Lee lost control at the wheel and crashed his car into Toyota Camry parked nearby. He was alived when passers-by rushed him to the Selayang Hospital. However, the father of three succumbed to his bullet wounds half an hour later.
Mr Ahamd also said that according to police investigations, Mr Lee's car was bloked by another vehicle before the gunman opened fire witha n automatic pistol. " We believe that more than one person was involved in the murder."
The police have not ruled out business rivalry and are waiting to interview Mr Lee's family members.
