Breath with your nose will limit your oxygen supply while training thus improving your VO2Max (amount of oxygen intake). So, in the future you will tend to use less oxygen to run the same amount, so your lungs dun need to work so hard and your cardio also need to work less (heart becomes stronger, dun need to pump so many times).
Breathing through nose also causes less stitch. Try to control your diaphragm rather than your lungs cos your lungs are usually weaker than your diaphragm. All these contribute to overall comfort of running and also your strength, thus your stamina, which is an overall representation of your fitness level.

Rythmic breathing helps. Irregular breathing patterns when running will cause you to have stitches. Try to maintain a constant speed when running and try not to stop.

Have to jog regularly to increase your stamina lo.
