STOMPer Aaron wonders if this is a "spy camera" on the rooftop of an HDB block.



"Where is our privacy? What if it's misused for some other purpose? What if someone's intimate moments are being recorded and end up on YouTube?" he asked.

The STOMPer said he can appreciate the surveillance and vigilance in some areas.

"We all know that Singapore is a safe city. All thanks to the efficient police force and hardworking government," he said in an email this morning (Jan 25).

"Always, trying to think out of the box...we all applaud," he said.

"Surveillance camera in downtown party area or red-light district. Speeding camera along all highway and those that are hidden.

"Both the above do serve a purpose in maintaining a safe environment for us. Protecting us from being killed without a witness or knocked in a hit-and-run accident," he said.

"But why an HDB camera?" he asked. "Why is that so?"

it could be watch out for vandalisers? whatever it is, why so worried? if it's for voyeurism, then the camera would have been a little bit more discreet right? ..not too big to let a stomper capture a piture of it..

LRT at point of time they travel near HDB the windows will blur out, maybe the camera is deployed by smrt station control to activate the blurring effect on LRT window? If you travel on LRT, take a look at the HDB flats some have this camera on.
