A SINGAPOREAN man and his Malaysian accomplice have been sentenced to death for an armed robbery bid in Johor Baru in 2001.

During the botched attempt, Singaporean Lim Tiong Seng, 36, fired his gun five times. One bullet hit the back of a passer-by.

In the Johor Baru High Court on Wednesday, Judge Datuk Ghazali Cha found Lim guilty of discharging a firearm and his accomplice Wang Hup Huat, 48, of abetting him.

The initial trial was held in 2005.

The death sentence is mandatory, under Malaysian and Singapore law, for offences involving the use or discharge of firearms.

read the news on wanbao.. the mum quite pitiful leh.. got 4 sons, 1 dies young, 1 in jail, 1 death sentence.. no mention of another son.. poor thing..

wow. this case dragged til like 6 yrs.. anyway.. guns either he steal from those security guard or buy de.. some countries allow ppl to keep gun.. if im nt wrong.. i think america allows each family to own one gun..
