S'porean to hang for JB armed robbery attempt A SINGAPOREAN man and his Malaysian accomplice have been sentenced to death for an armed robbery bid in Johor Baru in 2001.
During the botched attempt, Singaporean Lim Tiong Seng, 36, fired his gun five times. One bullet hit the back of a passer-by.
In the Johor Baru High Court on Wednesday, Judge Datuk Ghazali Cha found Lim guilty of discharging a firearm and his accomplice Wang Hup Huat, 48, of abetting him.
The initial trial was held in 2005.
