it's ok if it's too simple. as you write more, then will improve le. i also like that.

i think song writing actually no need learn one. got inspiration then can write le. i dun think there are any techiques or so. if not everybody's song will have the same structure. isn't that bad?

hMm..i myself dun realli knw music, but is interested in composing too. although im a noob in tune & lyric composing, just hope my two cents worth can help people who are interested in composing, but dunno how to start....

i tink most important is to b consistent. whenever u have tunes in ya head, record using ya hp, etc. gd tunes dun always come all the times, and i gtta say gd tunes realli come when u r realli emotional- for e.g, when u break off with your stead. lyrics u can afford to write nx time, but once the tune u 4got, that's it.

ya, it doesnt mean u need to knw music, for u to come out with a tune. mayb u can use ya hp application, for e.g., tune composer, just anihw press, sooner or later sure got a tune de. to get more tunes, listen to more songs, exposed yaself to more songs, see how other songs actuali flow smooth.. there's a pattern to it. or simply just hymn anything while walkin on the streets.

for lyrics, unless ya command of language is pretty strong, then u need not work so hard. for me, both my chinese n english sucks. there's 2 ways to write nice lyrics. 1. the person uses chim literature words. 2. words that rhymes. the 1st one is gone case for me. so i find out words that rhymes. for english, there're shd be some freeware out there to show u words that rhymes. i pen mostly chinese lyrics, so have to search through the dictionary. =]

lastly, for the background music aka accompaniments, u realli need to have musical background. this is the advanced stage. unless u like to sing n play rock songs, don't go for electric guitar. i tink people like to sing their own composed song yea? a gd instru wd b pop keyboard. it works v well with ballads, and it has the function to choose which sound of instru u 1. n ballads are easier to sing than rock songs. =]

once i was washing bowls then i got this tune in my head. its something quite different from what i usually do but i forgot to record it down. so i lost it. boo.

Yep. We can start a club ourselves. =] However, seems like there're alot of newbies here... We can onli write out the main melody, and lyrics, w/o accompaniment. As what I realise, it's extremely hard to please someone just by "qing chang" (sing your song w/o any music) to him/ her. Reason being, he/she will compare your songs to those by singers, like Jay, Lee Hom etc.

I myself is learning pop keyboard now for 2 mths. I dun mind sharing what I've learnt. Anyone wanna join n form a club or sumtin, n share with one another our music knowledge, and help one another with our strength? Then in future, we have a list of new composed songs by our very own club, with the strengths of each member!
