SMU welcomes its first batch of law students SINGAPORE: The Singapore Management University (SMU) welcomed its new batch of undergraduates at a ceremony on Saturday.
Among them are its first batch of 117 law students.
Some 1,550 undergraduates were chosen from nearly 13,000 applicants.
And for the first time, the university admitted students from South Africa, the Netherlands and New Zealand.
But the bulk of SMU's foreign intake of about 310 students (or 20 percent of total intake) comes from countries closer to home.
Nine in 10 are from India, China and ASEAN members.
Some 200 undergraduates have been awarded scholarships, which include the newly introduced SMU Study Award. - CNA/ir |
