SINGAPORE: The Singapore Management University (SMU) welcomed its new batch of undergraduates at a ceremony on Saturday.

Among them are its first batch of 117 law students.

Some 1,550 undergraduates were chosen from nearly 13,000 applicants.

And for the first time, the university admitted students from South Africa, the Netherlands and New Zealand.

But the bulk of SMU's foreign intake of about 310 students (or 20 percent of total intake) comes from countries closer to home.

Nine in 10 are from India, China and ASEAN members.

Some 200 undergraduates have been awarded scholarships, which include the newly introduced SMU Study Award. - CNA/ir

lol....SMU law is screwed up to get in. They came to my school and introed and said that their intake was 3As and A for gp minimum+successful interview..which is like the maximum possible score for a normal student like me

Who is from smu law school? Is shm a student there? Really curious as to how different smu law is, compared to nus law. Wonder how their library is like. Anyone knows?
