Total SGC$: 814.28 | Singapore's customer service rating takes a drop | Quote: | | | | | The World Economic Forum's (WEF) annual competitiveness survey placed Singapore at 26th spot this year, down from 17th a year ago.
The country was galvanised into action after it plummeted from 11th to 21st spot in 2004, and launched the nationwide Go the Extra Mile for Service (Gems) movement last year to develop a culture of excellent service in all sectors of the economy.
... more worryingly, regional rivals are outstripping Singapore in the service race. Hong Kong leapt to fourth place, up from 10th last year. Three other Asian economies are in the top 10 - Japan, South Korea and Taiwan. Indonesia, in 18th place, and Malaysia, in 23rd, also fared better than Singapore. Japan took No. 1 spot with 6.2, followed closely by Austria and Finland. | | | | | huhh we lose to hong kong?! wjapan & south korea these can understand lah, they everything also so polite... but we are 26th?! lose to m'sia somemore!

Total SGC$: 603.75 | I dun blame the one who serve ppl. I blame both the customer and the sales personnel. Some sales ppl are actually very gd, its jus that the customer very bad tempered, fussy and very bad attitude.
Regardless of "Customer is always right", i feel that both parties are required play a part if we are to increase our ranking To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. for customer service to be improved, both customer and service staff need to play a part..
i remembered once a customer came to me complaining loudly that she had wanted a drink from another branch but it was closed.. i looked at the time.. it was half an hour after closing. then she complained where is the GEMS (torturous term) now.. and even went.. "oh yah.. i forgot that this is singapore!" i apologized for the store being closed.. and that i will do her drink as soon as possible.. cause she said that her car was parked behind and that she was in a rush.. so as i gave her the change, i asked if she was singaporean, she replied yes but shy to be one. and guess what, she took her drink and sat in my store drinking slowly.. so much for a rush.
its these kind of people that makes service line people's life miserable. GEMS is a two way thing. but i guess the "customer is always right" mentally has been built in the system.. |
