SINGAPORE: A Singaporean man, who tried to smuggle cigarettes by stuffing them in his socks and swimming trunks, has been caught at the Woodlands Checkpoint.

Immigration and Checkpoints Authority officers say they stopped him as he had unusual "bulges" on him and was behaving suspiciously.

The 45-year old man claimed that he had bought the contraband items for his own consumption, as well as for sale to his colleagues and friends.

In all, the man had 24 packets of tobacco and 33 packets of cigarettes on him worth about $730.

ICA warns that first time offenders can be fined up to 20 times the amount of duty evaded.

Repeat offenders face up to two years' jail and fine. - CNA/yy

haha, I'm sure this way has been used by many but still they try their luck. They are just waiting to be caught.

Hehe, just do it. For those people who are NSF's and hate their life in it. Just get it done and over with, dont go doing stupid things and get yourself charged for no particular reason. Other than that, stay cool. :rock:
