how does it work? like normal bnet?? got lag?? 
how do i get confidence & the bravery i need and to be able to say what i wanna say and not hide all things to myself... i wonder

It's like how Quake works. If you enable punkbuster, people need a key.
If you don't, people don't need. ID is free and easy with the server hosting though.
But Blizzard is not. Hosting a private server violates their rules and regulations. Even more so if you dont need cdkeys to play. And if you connect, you're violating the TOS when you bought the game.
Of course, most people won't care about all these till someone gets caught. So that's what you need to know.
Yes, it's illegal.
