La Fura dels Baus (Spain)
Let your dreams take flight at the festival’s opening celebrations! Escape into the realm of the subconscious where wildly spectacular visions await. A majestic wheel of red and golden light descends from above and the boundary between sleeping and waking fades away. Magically suspended in space is an amazing aerial net of human bodies moving in synchronicity. Are you among them? As the ethereal sojourn ends with the rediscovery of home, the sky lights up with brilliant showers of fireworks in a celebration of joyous optimism. Come experience this awe-inspiring production, specially created for the festival.
Known for its multi-sensory theatrical experience that often involves audience participation, La Fura dels Baus has developed its own Furan performance language, style and aesthetics, blending multiple artistic disciplines and new technologies. Proteo Project Vertical Dance – NEOS
Company Il Posto
(Italy)
Marvel at this breathtakingly elegant performance as dancers suspended in mid-air move in harmony to the accompaniment of live music. Inspired by the transformative powers of the Greek sea-god Proteus, it is a site specific work that takes its shape from its environment. Along with the choreography and specially composed music, the architecture plays a fundamental role and makes each production unique. Movement and music become integrated with the location, with the architecture as the theatrical space. Directed by Wanda Moretti and Marco Castelli Small Ensemble, Il Posto’s vertical dance project has fascinated audiences through its interplay with structures and places as varied as bridges, towers, lighthouses, caves and cloisters.

CLOSING CELEBRATIONS -
Time Out
antagon theaterAKTion
(Germany)
In a world spun off course, Time Out puts a stop to time. For just one moment, a reality check and the search is on for a lost spirituality and lasting happiness. Yearning for a life that is perhaps long gone, or does it still lie ahead? Encapsulating the struggle between constraint and release, insanity and magic, this mesmerising production pulsates with raw and primitive energy. Images from the past and present are twisted into visions of a new and better future.
Be transported to a space and time beyond your imagination, where fantastical beings and creatures reside. Look out for them as they are already in your midst and they will lead you in a procession to their world. Using body-theatre, original live music, projections, stilt-walking, and spectacular pyrotechnics, Time Out melds reality with illusion, and culminates in a fiery finale.
So time out to be a part of the Festival as it comes to a spellbinding close.
