Sinagpore manufacturers getting more cautions and less optimistic:SMA survey SINGAPORE: Singapore manufacturers are getting more cautious and less optimistic in the face of an expected slowdown in the US.
The latest survey by the Singapore Manufacturers' Federation show a net balance of 24 percent of companies predicting brighter prospects this quarter.
This is lower than the 27 percent net balance reported in the third quarter.
More manufacturers are also forecasting lower profitability even though the respondents were slightly more upbeat about the prospects for the Singapore economy.
A net balance of 53 percent see an improvement in the domestic economy compared to 51 percent in the last quarter. |
