Hi all,

As we all know, SGClub Dollar have turned into virtual currency. Thus, there won't be another Donation Drive using SGC$. However, I believe deeply that in order to get rid of poverty, independence and self reliant is the only way to get around it.

So here is a proposal which will help both you, yes you, the people reading this to explore your avenue of indepence and helping others who doesn't have the privillege to get rid of poverty.

The Proposal

All you have to do is to create an eBay account, list any item on eBay.com (not .com.sg) and PM or email me your name, userID (ebay / sgclub), your item listed (url) and I will put $10 in a the fund.

Like what we did in our previous Donation Drive, everyone will know how many have 'donated' and how much was donated and who they are. I would use the previous Thread so as not to create another sticky for this.

As always, the receipt will be shown here to proof this fund raiser is authentic.

My target is to hit $300 (30 new accounts) by end of the month.

All the money will go to M.I.L.K Foundation.

Requirements

Here are the requirements to list on eBay.com

- Verified Paypal account
- Linking of Paypal account to your New userID
- Credit or Debit Card
- At least 18 years and above.

We define new userID as created from Sep to Nov. And each Paypal account can link up to 5 eBay accounts.

Means that if you can create an account and list an item on eBay.com (not ebay.com.sg) I will put $10 into the fund. All you have to do is send me your userID for eBay and the item url.

Everything will be updated here so everyone will have a clear idea of how many have listed and how much I am going to donate.

Thiis fund raising process will go on till 30th Nov and if it has good response, it could become ongoing...

In my opinion it's as good as solicitation for ebay...

Just because "ebay" is a well known brand doesn't mean we are allowed to solicit membership with the mask of doing donation, don't we?

I might be wrong though =) and if I did wrong, I can too organize something similar? I have a website to promote, and if any of you signed up I will put $10 to the pot?

edit: wrong use of words. spamming is a strong negatively correlated word. it should be "solicitation".

ya, i dun get it also.. how come we cant just bank transfer the money to u or someone directly? setting up an ebay a/c and stuff sounds kinda scam-ish.. i dun really understand how it works..

besides, i just tried to set up an ebay a/c recently.. wah lau eh.. it prompt me for a contact number.. and somehow i couldnt give the number that can satisfy the system.. so it dont allow me to sign up.. -_-" so this method of donation may be a bit too troublesome for most ppl..?

I think what Ican is doing here is to encourage you to use Ebay and at the same time, donating money, for a good cause. Ebay is a good place to sell your unwanted stuff because as you all know, one man's trash can be another man's treasure.

Think about it, what does Ican gain from asking you to sign up for Ebay? Does he get commission? No.

I mean, if you really just want to donate, i'm not sure about what Ican feels but personally, i think it's okay.

Besides, Ebay is not a scam. =/ The only way to get scam is when you pay for the item and the person didn't send it to you OR you send the item out to the buyer but the buyer didn't pay you.
