Well, I do not know if I'd get flamed by starting this thread, but I'd just want to know how people actually feel about News reports.

After reading this article http://www.sgclub.com/singapore/blog...tml#post447460
I feel that we should discuss about reasons why would people go against or along, neutral or even giving suggestions to the "appropriate" way of how it should be done.

Actually, have people who opposed this choice really considered about how he had felt as an individual? Rather than just considering about the school's reputation, the worries from parents etc more than anything else.

Put yourself in his shoe (or other g/l), how would you feel if you know people surrounding you've been doubting you, saying things about you, and all you could do(in past) were just pure denying.

Do you feel good? Not only did you deceive others, you'd also deceived yourself. And I believe that it doesn't feel good, does it?

It's simple. Just like you'd done something which you feel not many people will accept (not that it's wrong or shameful), chances of you publicly confessing is slim because you do not wish to have familiar faces, or strangers to be taken aback by what you do. However, do you yourself feel nice or good? Isn't that shortchanging yourself?

I believe there are people who did something different than others, and had received numerous comments, regardless positive or negative about it. Interlink that kind of situation to this situation, and I hope you'd see and feel for it.

Keeping private. At the end of day, if this isn't what you want out of yourself, hiding yourself from the crowd and all, shouldn't you stop shortchanging yourself and allow others to face the reality with you? Being who he is isn't wrong, after all, he didn't harm anyone, did he? So why would he need to go private?

A teacher's life is already very private I would say. Having a blog is already like a risk, because you never know how your students will find out and what will they talk about. If he were to keep himself even more private, then where will his personal space be?

Why do we have to see it as though it's a "dirty secret"?

Well, I'm just sharing my view on this, and I hope to hear more from people here! I hope that it's not offensive and sincerely apologize if I'd offended anyone in one way or another.. Cheers!
