OKLAHOMA CITY — Oklahoma police called off their search Wednesday of an area near the sites where officials discovered the car of a 20-year-old pregnant woman missing since Nov. 23 and a prayer group happened upon the corpse of another woman.

Bethany, Okla., police called off the search for Lauren Barnes Wednesday afternoon after 300 people scoured more than 1,000 acres without finding her, NewsOK.com reported.

Barnes, five months pregnant and requiring blood thinner medication daily, was last seen on Nov. 23. She failed to meet up with friends that night. No tips have been received.

"We're not getting any calls. I felt like it was time to search and get some personnel out here. I was in awe of the turnout," Bethany Police Chief Neal Troutman told NewsOK.com. "We'll now get back to the investigative side of it."

On Tuesday morning, a youth group holding a prayer service near Lake Overholser found the body of a woman, a few miles from where Barnes' car was found.

The body was not that of Barnes, Sgt. Paco Balderrama said. The cause of death for the unidentified woman was unknown and being treated as a homicide.

Balderrama said the dead woman appeared to be between 45 to 55 years old.
