From some sources (Local Bus forums and some SBSTransit Staffs)

SBSTransit is buying an additional fleet of 100 Wheelchair Accessible Buses, but this time its Single Decks. (Yes, i've sighted the demo unit at SBST HQ)

Thus, other than the 200 Volvo B9TL Wheelchair Accessible Bus, we have a new sparkling fleet of 100 Scania K230UB Wheelchair Accessible Buses. ( That is part of the plan to transform Singapore's Transport System to be one of the world's best...)

When SBSTransit first introduced Wheelchair Accessible Buses (WAB) last year, WAB are not fully deployed on some service which serves on Single Deckers as the Volvo B9TL is a 4 metre Double Decker.

its great for the disable,now they can travel in buses ,although MRT is good but it cant reach many of the streets in Singapore.

I would rather that they buy only for the handicapped one and nothing more fancy and spend the money on improving the driver's skill and also working attitude.

woah, they really try to copy germany public transport service.. cuz they are accessible by handicapped ppl since one side of the bus always lowered whenever it stops on any busstop so that handicapped ppl can go in and out easily from the bus..

i like their new buses :mellow3: feel more spacious

i think a lot more depend on the bues driver... actually la, the disable shld have a pass from the government and they can take cabby for free, i think this way help them more... and save a lot of other people time, u all think lei?

it's better to change the bus and make sure the drivers take care of the bus.

passengers have paid for the fare to board the bus and have a clean environment, but look at some of the bus?

There's smell, cockroaches and rubbish.

I'd rather they don't spend on such fanciful things, and work on improving efficiency and capacity...

Being forced to watch the sunrise from my place bus-stop, while looking at 3 full buses chiong past every morning is not exactly what I will call an "efficient, world-class public transport system"...
