SBS driver dozes off at the wheel

Nail artist Daphne, 33, said this SBS driver "dozed off for a good three minutes" at the traffic junction of Telok Blangah Road.

She took these photos at about 11.20am today (Jan 28), when her car was next to the bus, Service 124.

"We were just in front of the lights. There was one car in front of the bus. When the lights turned green for him to move, there was a delayed response. The car had moved off quite a distance before he started moving," she said.

"I feared for the passengers as well as for people on the road. How to justify for safety?" she asked.

"The engine is still running, which means the driver has to be alert at all times, especially when it comes to public transport," she said.

I think Bus drivers should have longer rest time... seriously... it is very dangerous if they don't have enough sleep while driving a big ass bus....

lucky i rarely take 124. rawr =x.

well. after he reach the bus terminal , usually can rest if i not wrong?. lol

We should be grateful that the driver choose to do it at the traffic lights and that show he still has sense of responsibility.

In the first place, He shouldn't even be dozing off or rest like that posture. The most he could do is to mainly stretch his body and drink some water. I guess that the well being of singaporeans will definitely fear this situation because their lives might be at risk. =) You certainly will not want the bus driver to do that if you're travelling on his/her bus, don't you?
