anyone got saving plan? from bank or insurance?


i was contacted by a insurance agent, she said they have this saving plam ->

transfer an fix amount of money (lets said is $100) from your bank acc to your insurance acc every month. Any amount will do , but min is $70 (every month the same amount) , then the annual interest is 3% to 4% .

those who had saving plan , think this plan is good? if not, can suggest?

suggest u invest in some low risk investment link saving wil give u a better return in at least the next 5 yrs....

Insurance plan, they normal take their commission on ur 1st few year's premium....something i dont like.

What's the catch? There's definitely a catch.
I don't think it's purely a savings plan. Most likely containing an investment element in it.

Think it's one of those Endowment plans with Insurance features... Ok if you are thinking of savings & having some insurance at the same time... However, do note & ask them for the real return rate after taking into account of deductions, rather than taking the interest rate they quote to you... Do compare with various insurer before commiting.. :mellow3:

Know where you're putting your money in, and how much you're getting from it. Some plans might not be giving you the kinda return that you want.

i was also quoted a savings plan by a banker from uob. It's an endowment policy from manulife...
however, i find that endowment policy is not really suitable for me.. i rather invest the money in bonds or money market funds...

before deciding whether it is good... is the interest rate confirmed?? as in it is not pegged to current trend or whatever thingie...

and then, can u withdraw ur money as and when u like?? or is there a min period to pass before u can use ur money???

is urs 100% principle guarantee? If not means not savings.
I got 2 investment savings plan by dbs and aviva(joint).
1 is not principle guarantee, $100 a mth for 15 yrs. But can take out after 8 yrs if u think the int earn is good enuff.
Another 1 is $110.20 a mth for 10 yrs. Can onli take out full amt after 15 yrs. But instead of depositing $110.20 a mth into the saving plan, they deposit $116 a mth. this 1 is 100% principle guarantee.
I felt they r good in a way to help me save $$ for the future. Or else i would be spending all my allowance.

i dun think this is very reliable...hmmm my mum had this last time...and she cant really use the money noe...only a portion of it..hmmm can save and invest in some other way..

i just "pushed" the agent off liao a few days ago, the plan she intro is min save up for 20 yr then can see return, WTH , 20 yr? is there any short term one or not? like every year can draw back the interest one.

nah, i dun really go for it, imagine if something bad happen out of the blue, den u nid money badly, confirm alot of procedure will have to be gone thru before u can withdraw the money u invested inside

but depends lah, ultimitely it up to u and the factors around u
