i just got a painful ulcer in my mouth recently, and i heard that putting salt on the ulcer will heal it faster.

is that true?
anybody tried it before?

Hi,do not apply on the ulcer,just put abit of salt in a cup of water to wash it 3times a day.

The following self-care measures may help to reduce pain from mouth ulcers:

keep your mouth clean at all times, avoid foods that are spicy, acidic, salty or particularly hot or cold, which can make the symptoms worse, eat a healthy diet that includes fresh fruit and vegetables, gargle with warm salt water, use a diluted chlorhexidine mouthwash once a day to help reduce the length of time the ulcers last. sprays and rinses are also available for pain relief. You can also use special products that are available from your pharmacist.

I always do it whnever i haf ulcer.... its pain whn u put salt on ur ulcer of coz... but then its will recover 2 or 3 days earlier... try put it bef u go slp... applied for few nites.. :rock:

LOL. no pain no gain? ya. i heard from alot of ppl that actually salt is good for healing wounds, but it is extremely pain.. try using bonjela when u have ulcers. i always do that..

MY ADVISE for you.. do not put salt..

go to any chinese medical shop of pharmacy/guardian buy WATERMELON POWDER. its for curing ulcers. very effective, Either u want to recover faster, go to any chinese medicine shop, buy LING YANG water abt S$5 a cup.
*antelop Horn wintermelon water* .. really it works. used for generations...

it will be pain as hell but heals way faster, either u waste your money in buying those stuff ( no offence ) or u put salt in water and take a few days to heal and when everytime u eat u will feel pain OR u put salt directly on it and suffer an aweful sudden pain only once and it heals way faster than the rest..choose one? =)

LOL, I dont use the cheap way. what if it doesnt works??? huh? some people are allergy to certain things, my advice is recommended. if you dont believe, go ask your grandparents, they will tell you..

P.S: what if it doesnt works??? huh? put salt directly on the affected part and suffer an AWEFUL SUDDEN PAIN ONCE**, maybe it happens to you just apply once and its ok. Does it applies to everyone else your way??? oh pls.... *no offence* but i think if you dont want to suffer any pain, it is necessary to spend your money in such situation....

putting salt on your ulcer will cause it to 'burn' and have a hot sensation.. i think it's actually not good cos it sort of 'burst open' your ulcer.. ever notice how your ulcer appear to have a white hole after u directly put salt on it?

i will recommend putting aloe veral gel cos it's very cooling and has real healing effects.. it will cool down ur ulcer and cause it to disappear very fast

i smell flame lol oulcer very mafan i got 1 very big but i put the watermeleon dunnoe what lar like tamjpn say effective 1 night got the effect le ur ulcer shape will be there But no more feeling after 1 or 2 day completely gone
