| SINGAPORE: A Singapore short film featuring a man in a monkey suit looking for lost love has won a Grand Prize in a French film festival.
"Monkeylove" by Royston Tan beat 46 other international entries in the Labo Competition.
The contest was held in a small French town at the 29th Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival.
The short film was produced in 2005 and shot entirely in Hokkaido during the winter season.
Other short films by Singaporeans have also done well at international film festivals.
Five of them were screened at the renowned Rotterdam Film Festival in the Netherlands recently.
The Singapore Film Commission provided funding for over 70 Singapore short films last year, a jump from 11 in 1998. | |
