This is how I would play a basic 'no brainer' break out in Field 1 at Red Dynasty Paintball Arena.
For this break everyone should safely get into their bunkers- the next step (2) is for the ones on the wings to make their way up into the sandbags. You have to move up to play the sand bags because its the only way to make kills.

On the break everyone spreads to cover the back bunkers and only one goes in the center.

Note the yellow lines: where you intend to go determines where you line up at the starting gate. You don't want to cross paths on the way to your bunker or you'll trip your team mate up and both of you get shot out.

If you're going left then you line up on the left side of the bunkers- if you're going right- line up on the right. Everyone has to have a clear path to their bunkers without crossing and tripping each other up.

SPREAD OUT
Don't play two guys in one bunker - most people will run into the centre because its the biggest and most sheltered. Spread out and cover as many bunkers as possible thus more angles.

Today I saw a team of 5 play - 3 in the middle and 2 at the right back. So a total of 5 team members- played 2 bunkers. Thats playing at a disadvantage - instead if holding 5 bunkers the whole team of 5 players played 2.

DONT ALL GO INTO THE CENTRE
If all of you run into the center bunker - that means less angles and option to shoot at. Putting two into one bunker is also not good because I just discovered that most people will not switch hands and play left and right side of the bunker. So what happens is two people in one bunker and only the one on the right will shoot while the other guy waits around and does nothing because he doesnt want to use is left hand and shoot on the left side.

The break is the most crucial part of the game - if you can get to your bunkers safely then you're in the game. If you can get to the crucial bunkers- in the case of Field 1 at Red Dynasty its the sand bags- you are at an advantage to shoot the opposition out.

If you can shoot out players on the other side- your team will be one the winning edge straight away within the first 30 seconds of the game.

So the Break out is important to get right.


This is how the world best paintball team- Dynasty breaks out.
The guys going to the furthest bunkers will just run as fast as they can - they line up of the far sides.
The guys going into the nearer bunkers will try and shoot out the runners on the opposite- they line up on the inside of the runners side. They are shooting as they move into their bunkers.

At the starting gate- barrels touching the gate
-body low and extended for lower center of gravity
-eyes looking at where he's going to shoot or run
-markers and arms ready to turn and shoot in a flash


Turning and shooting their lanes and trying to make kills on the break.

Singapore 15th February

TEAM RED SEVENS
MPOC- Malaysia Paintball Official League

Singapore's only Paintball team - the Red Sevens will launch their 2008 season of the MPOC League at the Xtion Cup at the Xtion Paintball Park at Bukit Jalil in Selangor Malaysia this weekend on the 16th and 17th of February. The team has been training at their new home field in Singapore at Red Dynasty Paintball park. Featuring for the first time in Singapore are the Sup'airball air bunkers which are used in tournament play.

The team is led by a new team Captain Arthur Chan in 2008 and the other team members include Benjamin Seow, Jane Koh, Azlan Azmir, Shafrul Omar and Benedict Chen. The Red Sevens will also field guest player in Daryl Yap.

"With the advantage of having our own Paintball field to train on, we should be aiming to do much better and hopefully score a few podiums this year." quote Benjamin Seow. Most of the members of the team are playing in their second campaign and are seasoned tournament players.

The Red Sevens will compete in Division 3 against teams from Johore, Penang, Kuala Lumpur and as far away as Terengganu. Preliminary games will be played on Saturday and Sunday with quarter finals and finals on Sunday afternoon. The Red Sevens have been able to qualify for the second round in every tournament they have played in and hope to continue this streak.

This happens alot in the field at Red Dynasty - everyone will shoot only with their right hand and look out from the right side of their bunker.

What happens is no one can see their opposite sides because everyone on the otherside is doing exactly the same thing. So there is nothing to shoot at and the game is stalemate.

If you can shoot with your left hand you'd have a big advantage over the single handed players - you must learn and practice playing with both hands.

SINGAPORE (Tuesday, 04 March 08) – Singapore’s first official paintball tournament, the Singapore Paintball Novice Series (SPNS) 2008 will be held in the island state’s largest and newest paintball arena, Red Dynasty Paintball Park on 30 March 2008.

This three-on-three tournament will be open for registration to all people residing in Singapore. “The aim of this tournament is to create paintball awareness in Singapore and to allow more people to take up this activity as a lifestyle sport” states Jane Koh, who is the President of the Paintball Association (Singapore) and the Singapore representative in the Paintball Asia League Series (PALS) which organized the World Cup Asia 2007. As the tournament director, she points out that paintball is not only an exhilarating sport to play; it is also one which is exciting to watch.

This tournament will create an opportunity for like-minded people to come together and pit their paintball skills against each other, thus increasing the community of paintball players in Singapore. The tournament has an expected turn out of twenty teams.

Ben Seow otherwise known as “King” within the paintball community is a member of the Singapore’s First Paintball Team, believes that this tournament will allow Singaporeans to experience playing paintball in a competition format which will help people to understand more about the sport. He believes that it will also allow the paintball standards in Singapore to improve and grow. With more than two hundred paintball teams in Malaysia, he hopes to see more paintball teams carrying the Singapore flag when participating in regional paintball tournaments.

The SPNS will be a three leg series which will be organized in the months of March, June and September (dates to be confirmed) in 2008. Teams can either choose to play in any leg or commit themselves to the entire series in which they will accumulate championship points for the Grand Champion award. Each team will comprise of five players roster with three first team players and two reserve players.

Being a novice tournament, this event will be evenly contested and provide a good platform for participants to understand and appreciate the sport better.

Dont think of the 'tournament' as a tournament where all the pro players are playing where you're going to get whacked.

most of the people who are playing are beginners like you - this is a tournament for beginners.

so its more like turning up and having 5-10 games properly organised for you with marker+paint and referees and all you have to do is turn up with three guys.

if you have played before and want to play more gamess - this is your opportunity to get to play some games at a very affordable price.
