SGC$: 23.00 Bank: 0.00 Total SGC$: 23.00 | The most fun you'll have ever- I'm pretty sure it beats nearly all (if not all) other sports out there. More fun than having a dinner with your gf (probably, then again, I'm not sure) and probably more fun than 95% of other things out there haha |

SGC$: 28.10 Bank: 0.00 Total SGC$: 28.10 | Haha... actually plaing paintball is just like picking up other activities like playing games at a lanshop, golf, martial art ect. Paintball is actually slightly cheaper then others depending on of course on how often you play and how much paintball you shoot. |

SGC$: 97.44 Bank: 0.00 Total SGC$: 97.44 | Thats always the dilemma- when you're a student with the body and energy and time- cant afford to play because you have no income. When you start working and have money to play- your body is too old you're not as fit and you have girlfriend wife etc that'll take up your time. Its a fine balance. Still its better to start young. Ollie Lang and Alex Fraige started playing when they were 14 and by the time they were 20 they and Dynasty were World Champions many times over. ![]() To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. I don't want to go Uni straight away cause I CBF to study right and I'm pretty obsessed with Pball right now so I'll be too distracted (not like I'm not gonna do it there anyways though heh). But hopefully I won't lose motivation to study after doing NS though and hopefullys my grades will be good enough to go either to Canada or the UK :O And that's why I'm starting now ![]() It's all about da sacrifices... Do you do/know any specific Pball exercises? Or is it pretty much just do treadmill for like 30 minutes, and working out? |

SGC$: 97.44 Bank: 0.00 Total SGC$: 97.44 | for pball you have to stretch - work on your legs and thighs because you have to stand/squat on both feet to snap shoot. stretching also helps to you be agile to prevent injuries when you run slide and dive into bunkers you also need to run- fast and holding a marker up to shoot while you're running. work on your arms too- you have to hold a marker up with both hands at all times during a game- many people cant take the weight and drop their markers when it starts to feel heavy. when you play with an e marker with a eloader and an air tank- it'll be much heavier than the tippmans you're been using. ![]() To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. SGC$: 23.00 Bank: 0.00 Total SGC$: 23.00 | Ye I wanna try run around with a marker with a full hopper and see how quick before my arms start to fatigue. Hey I've been reading alot about the UL 2 Piece Dye Barrel and how well it improves the accuracy of the marker. Do you know if it's possible to bring one into Singapore from Malaysia or is it banned under the firearm laws? I was just thinking of getting one cause I could use it now and in the future... |

SGC$: 97.44 Bank: 0.00 Total SGC$: 97.44 | Any good barrel will improve accuracy by miles compared to stock barrels. I have bought a few barrels from the net and they have arrived into Singapore with no problems. If the police call you up- just bring them a Pball magazine or catalog to show them what its for. Are you planning to get a UL for the Custom 98 or the A5? Trouble is they are both different threads even though they are both Tippmans. Silly idiots. Then you have to figure out which length and colour to get. Most pros will use a 14" some back players will use a 16". Most of my barrels are 14" and I have a 16" but with a Spyder thread. You should go to my blog and check out the SLY barrels- Ben has a 16" SLY dual-carbon ultra light barrel- those are sweet. ![]() ![]() To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. SGC$: 23.00 Bank: 0.00 Total SGC$: 23.00 | I was thinking of either a 12" or 14" but here's the link for the barrel in consideration http://www.pbreview.com/products/reviews/493/ . Are you able to get ANY barrel with the correct bore size and fit it onto ANY marker? I.e. If I bought this barrel I could just fit it onto the Tippmann 98/A5 and any e-marker, as long as the bore size is correct for the paint we shoot? I will definitely check out your SLY section ThanksEdit #2: Just looked at the SLY Barrels are daym they're nice... 207 USD for the SLY Infamous 'n 4 bore sizes :O! It looks like I'm buying everything BUT the marker now haha - but if Ben manages to bring them SLGs in then I guess no need to buy a marker in SG (I've sort of forgotten the deal with what happens so I might ask him today). SGC$: 97.44 Bank: 0.00 Total SGC$: 97.44 | There is a difference between barrel thread and bore sizing. THREADS Barrel thread is the type of marker that the barrel will fit. So manufacturers make barrels in Autococker thread, Custom 98, A-5 , Angel, ION, Shocker etc. The autococker marker used to be very popular so a lot of manufacturers make with markers with autococker/cocker thread. MacDev, Planet's EGO can be used with a MacDev, Ego and Dye DM and Proto PM markers. BORES Bores relate to the bore size of the barrel - standard bore size is .689 which paintballs are manufactured in. However due to weather and tempreture the paints can expand or shrink a little. So players who are more particular about performance will try and match their barrel bore size with the paint. On a hot day with high humidity the paint might expand slightly to .692 so you'd use a bore which is that size. So if you want to get an SLG and it has a cocker thread. So you'd look for a barrel with cocker thread. And if you want a barrel back in a different bore size you can get a barrel kit for the SLG - which is a cocker thread barrel kit and the SLY backs come in .683", .686", .689", .692" bores. If you want to buy a barrel for the Custom 98 then you get one with a Custom 98 thread with a standard .689 bore. No point for you get a barell kit now fo the Custom 98- dont get one untill you get your own marker If you cant afford to get a kit- just get a 14" barrel with a standard .689 bore and that'll be good enough for most days. Here is what SLY's website says about matching bore to paint. SIZING PAINTBALLS TO BARREL One thing is for sure in this sport; paintballs are not consistent. They change from brand to brand and are affected by temperature, humidity, and age. Therefore dimensions of a paintball obtained from one case will very often not match the dimensions taken from a different case of the same brand paint. And even sometimes the same case, if split into two sessions-with different weather, can be different. We know now the ONLY way to guarantee an accurate barrel to paint match is to compare the paintball to the barrel. This can be best achieved by either purchasing an assortment of barrels, or purchasing a barrel system with changeable backs such as the SLY barrel solution. Experienced amateur and professional players take a variety of barrels and or a barrel kit to ensure a perfect fit of paint to barrel match. Just having one barrel is too risky. The way to match the paint to barrel is: Take the ball, and place it into the breech of the barrel (back) it should not fall straight through. If the ball does roll out without any effort, the barrels internal diameter, or (bore) is too large. If it is too hard to blow the ball through, the barrel bore is too small. One should be able to blow the ball through the barrel with minimal resistance. ![]() To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. SGC$: 97.44 Bank: 0.00 Total SGC$: 97.44 | ![]() How to stand before the game starts. Ready to run - all eyes looking at there you want to shoot and run to. So you have played paintball a few times – what’s next? Either you like it and you cant wait to play again or you won’t play it for a while. Maybe you got hit and you don’t want to play again but hey - don’t forget you shot the guys on the other side too. Paintball is not just a recreation for us – we play it as a sport and we play it regularly. The more we play - the better we play individually and as a team. The thrill of playing paintball is to shoot the other guys out before they shoot you out. Nothing feels as good as when the game plan works and everyone did they job well and your guys whack the other side to score the win. If you’re one of those who have been bitten by the paintball bug and are keen to play more often. Read on. TEAMMATES Paintball is the only team extreme sport - you need to have people to play with. You need to find people who will want to come out and play. Forming a team is easy- its keeping a team together that is the hard part. You have to generate enough enthusiasm and interest in the sport to get guys to come out to play regularly. Just getting people to come on time is a big hassle. If you can’t find teammates from friends- there are other regular players who are also ‘ronins’ and they could be looking for a team. If you look around you can find a team to join or guys to form a team with. The last thing you have to do after forming the team is to pick a team name and a captain who will lead it. SKILLS Most of you who have played at Red Dynasty would have been taught some paintball skills by us. Shoot with both hands holding the marker and how to aim by using both eyes to trace the shot. You need to keep practicing these basic skills. Stand up on both feet to shoot and shoot with both hands and shoot with your left and right hand. SHOOTING WITH BOTH HANDS At this stage of your paintball skill level - your left hand is about as crap as your right hand. Its just a psychological you have to overcome. It feels more natural to hold the marker with you right hand however start using both hands now rather than later. The earlier and faster you master shooting with both hands – the better. Shoot with both hands holding the marker in front of you to ensure that you and your marker are shooting at your target. One handed shooting is not accurate and is a waste of paint. ![]() Stand on both feet to shoot. Keep head behind your marker with both eyes watching where the paint goes and what you're shooting at STAND UP AND SHOOT I tell everyone who plays in the centre and back bunkers to play standing up because everyone will squat and have their backs to the opposite side. Being able to stand up and shoot is an luxury as the bunker is tall and you have a height advantage. When you squat, you lose your height advantage. Your shooting height is reduced to the same height as the bunkers that your enemy is hiding in. You’ll be shooting their bunkers and not them. Having your back to the enemy is just a waste of having you in the game because you are not shooting nor spotting so your team is playing with one less team mate. ![]() Here I am yelling information to Azlan who is across the field, to check on the guy who is shooting at me from the bunker in front of me. He should be able to see my 'mirror' and whack him from the side cross angle. COMMUNICATION Communication between every teammate is very important. Even experience players like us get berated for not talking enough in tournaments. You have to over come being self conscious about yelling at your teammates. During games I would be screaming my head off to get my message across to my teammates. As a back player I will be standing up and watching and passing on information to the front guys who will most probably be deep in the front bunkers. To effectively work as a team and you have to communicate to each other everyone has to have enough information to know what to do and where to go. Everyone needs to know where the enemy is – how many guys they got left - how many you shot- where is the last guy. The most basic thing you have to know is how many guys they have left and especially when they only have 1 guy left and where is he. TEAMWORK You and your teammates have to play together and learn how to work as a team. The more games you play together the more confidence you will have in each of your team mates. A good example is when you’re 3 guys up and they have a last man. All three of you have to communicate and work together to whack the last man out. Most of the time the three will come out and shoot independently and the last man can pick you guys off one at a time and still come back and make the win. All three have to stand up TOGETHER and shoot and move up and wide apart to get the angles to kill the last man. This takes team work and trust because if one of you chickens out and ducks back in. The last man will have one less man to deal with. If all three are shooting him - he cannot come out and will be a sitting duck in his bunker. MOVING UP I cannot stress the importance of moving up. If you’re camped in the back bunkers all day - you’re not much use to your team. You’re too far back to make any kills and do anything for your team. I also stress that moving up is moving forward to the front- not moving back to the back bunkers. What always happens is one of the guys up front get shot out and the back guys are too scared to move up. Whoever is still left alive up front becomes a sitting duck as all the opposite fire power will be focused on the one guy up front. If the guy in front of you gets shot- its your job to move up to replace him. You should make the move without having to be told to. ![]() Run fast and run low. If you're going to run and shoot - shoot with BOTH hands holding the marker and run low. When you move - just run as fast and low as possible into the front bunker. Don’t stop in the middle - don’t stop if a shot misses you - don’t stop to shoot. Just run. If you start shooting with one hand that will not hit anything and it’ll be a waste of paint and more it’ll slow you down enough to get shot while running. I hope these basics will help you improve your game the next time you come out and play. Its one thing to read all this but it’s another thing to remember and do it all on the field. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- [color="blue"]Look out for the Paintball Level One Clinic which the Red Sevens will be conducting at Red Dynasty soon. ![]() ![]() To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater.
