Radio DJ calls student 'most stupid' for returning money he finds in cinema. Is this right?

On Wednesday, Dec 20 at 0930 hours, I was listening to the radio on MediaCorp 98.7FM when two disc jockeys talked about a 19-year-old student in the United States who, while cleaning a cinema hall, found a lady's handbag with US$24,000 in cash and returned it to the owner.

One of the disc jockeys called the student "the most stupid person in the world" and said that he should have kept the money as "how often does US$24,000 fall from the skies?"

Does the radio station condone such comments?

Also, I find that their language can sometimes be quite lewd and their other comments insensitive.

Erm. it's the muttons who said that? or what. If it's muttons who said that, well, they always joke around. haha. don't take their word seriously. I'm sure they don't mean that. If it's not the muttons.

then can you specify whose the DJs? So I can boycott their programmes =X

Okay. I confirm it is the Muttons cos it is stated there. "On Wednesday, Dec 20 at 0930 hours, I was listening to the radio on MediaCorp 98.7FM." Erm, some may find it discomfort but when you are a devoted radio listeners, you should know that The Muttons always joke and they don't mean anything harmful. The amusements they have created from boring morning is already a good effort. They must be not so Serious to keep the amusement, anyway, it's morning, and it's hard to keep people amused using serious tone and comments.

and, Seriously, from your bottom of your heart, will you keep the money? If yes, don't be so politically concerned about this matter. I feel.

I would be offended if they were serious, coz I've return wallets, bags, student concession cards when I found them last time. It would mean they are scolding me as well

radio stations should be more careful on what they say.

i think the DJ's are the ones that are more stupid. these comments should be kept solely to themselves what... who cares what they think the boy should do.. anyway 98.7 sucks... the DJs are so boring and immature.. Power98 kicks their ass anytime. as for me, if i find 24,000$ i wouldnt return it either.. haha. but i wont call people stupid for doing so..

perhaps the DJs wun return but who are they to make such a comment or remark.. kns...

radio station should convey the correct message lor~ sack the DJs...

yes i wld return provided i noe who the owner...if i bring to police station, who noes wat will happen to it anyway..

if small sum i'll keep (not nid go all through so much trouble to return small sum mah), but such huge sum could mean a big difference to the person who lost it. it may be need for operation fee or emergency use. tink if u're the 1 who lost it, n need it urgently, hw wld u feel.

as for the dj, usually they work in pair. if 1 joke about it, the other shld start to educate the listeners so they give a more through perspective rather then one-sided view. i'll b so pissed if ppl start tinking being honest is equal to being stupid. if the society is realli becoming like dat, then may the end of the world come soon....

they are always full of jokes and rubbish so this time, i believe they are merely cracking lame joke again..

somehow i will return the money...i know how it feels to lose something precious...i cried when i lost my fave cross pendant from my granny, what's more if I lose $24k

I think it could have been a joke but after going through other forms of report in the media, it becomes miscommunicated. I don't think they will be so bad to say such a thing ba.
